If you do guys, I would hope my ignorance will save me from it as I would hate (In answer to your question Dean) to make it that easy!

I agree.

(If such an additive or bait would become available, what would be the upshot of this and would it take some of the mystery and magic away from our sport?)

When you find this magic formular ring me and tell me the first 7 numbers that come into your head so i can do with winning the LOTO or you ought to write a book on "understanding women" will be a best seller for sure LOL

Seriously though for me it would kill my fishing knowing i could not fail to catch every time i went although at the min i could do with all the help i can get \:\)

if the "ultimate bait" was ever to come about it would obviously work really well and for a time it would be like clubbing seals !!
however i beleive like most new baits it would work for a time until the fish wised up to being caught on it all the time and then you'd be back to square one, having to concentrateon the old basics like location, the right rig,etc ,etc

bare the thought.....!!!!

Again....Depends on the fish..if they are angled for all the time they have to eat something and the wide selection of quality that is offered always offers them a different protein/ammino balance...i fished a lincolnshire day ticket place last weekend and found a lot of fish in one area,my mate and i fed the fish in 2 - 3 ft water with fusion, dmb tiger nut and home rolled fishmeals for two hours....they scoffed the lot,low oil pellets and freebies scored 8 fish overnight...24lb the best.

I think that each time the "Ultimate bait" has come along so far it has been only for a short period of time.

First we had the Milk Proteins, then Amino Acids, Fishmeals, Feed Enhancers and Triggers, and each particular "product" has only been ultimate for so long. Every time we have had the ultimate bait it has worked or not worked on the Angler using it, or every water is different. There are some absolutely excellent Baits and bait ingredients on the Market , and in the right hands all will catch, yet due to Laziness or incorrect baiting they don't catch as expected.

No matter what Bait is used it still has to be put where the Fish are comfortable eating it, whether that is at Extreme Range or under the Rod Tip.

Correct Application will produce far more fish than a switch to the current "fashion".

Do you not think we already all have our own ultimate baits chaps,
Years of confidence, application, and watercraft can turn even censored baits into winners.
I think boilies are as good as they need to be tbh, used in the right way your gauranteed success anyway. I see it as the further erosion of the fundamentals of angling, bait boats, scientifically formulated baits(not even sure if thats directed at you dean), the current angling industry with its full timers seeing fish as pay checks (small at that), and lakes rimmed with carp. Its all too easy now if you want it to be.
