Ive been thinking about a few things just recently and have been asking myself some strange questions but have been confused somewhat with my own answers

The quest for the ultimate bait poses a number of dilemnas,to me and probably many of the older carpers out there.......

If such an additive or bait would become available, what would be the upshot of this and would it take some of the mystery and magic away from our sport?

Please give your views on this as its a major concern .........

The only mystery to be removed (and it happened to me twice last weekend) is "Why doesn't the fish pick up my bait? It knows it's there."

The ultimate additive has hit the market several times in the past, just never did the business as promised though.
ie; addits, secret agent, carptract, ulrabite, just to name a few. ;\)

If we all use the ultimate bait, we will still think there is something out there better.
Nothing like a good blank or two to put things in perspective though.

Sweetcorn is a brilliant bait, but doesn't always catch carp due to nuisance fish or lack of application at distance.....which can be achieved if one has the time and inclination.
A super bait will only be super in certain hands.
So far the ultimate boilie has not yet been made, or everyone would use it and other companies will just sell cr*p.
OOPS! is that happening now? ;\)

If it ever gets to that stage, could any of you throw a snippet my way.

Would happily pay for advice on how to catch atm.

The ultimate bait is not always the answer to the question, depends on the type of carp you are fishing for,if they have seen it all and there are no nuisance species then yes it's a huge edge, but if they haven't been caught before or are "unpressured" and there are nuisance species the quality of the bait becomes secondary to some extent and other factors such as location and the baiting pyramid play a more important role.

But what if someone got it correct? how would it effect your fishing?

How do you know if you have the"ultimate" additive ? What's the measure...the standard...benchmark...simmo's or 30's from here there and everywhere or proper tough fish like the car park biggies or an old estate lake fish or crayfish pool fish ?

Isn't this like fly fishing? The ultimate bait is maggots or worms so they use flys to make it more of a challenge? I'm sure I've heard that somewhere. Surely if the ultimate bait was found it would be frowned upon as unsporting (don't know if we'd all go round with different boilies hanging on our hats though!)

Unless it came with an instruction booklet (like korda hooks ) of where to feed it and when then the ultimate bait would be of little use to the majority of us anyway

Wouldn't let it worry you too much though...................... \:\)

'Ulimate' and 'Bait' together in a true sense would mean a bait which carp WILL ALWAYS want to eat, no matter what time of year or conditions. I don't believe that will ever be achieved, unless Dean and PB are on the verge of developing something!

If you do guys, I would hope my ignorance will save me from it as I would hate (In answer to your question Dean) to make it that easy!
