d`ya think casting ability counts for most of yer catches???
sliding a lead in at distance to within an inch of your chosen spot takes some doin especially if it can be perfected so not make a sound/disturbance as it enters the water..maybe less than your actual boilies disturbance ..whats yer thoughts..one of the main edges in carpin for me..i`m probably a master at it..this deters me from ever using a b.boat..wouldn`t like to lose my finely tuned accuracy...

Cant cast for toffee mate. Not bad at underhand margin casting but cack at range. Always seems to go right for some reason.

It doe's pay off being able to chuck it a way,and is a valuable tool to have in your armoury,i fish a 160 acre pit and most of the fish are caught at 15 - 70 yds range.

But you need to be able to put a marker float at range...120 yds + and the worlds your oyster.

I can fish reasonably well at Range, and at short distance.

I don't/won't own a Bait Boat, so prefer to practise casting, Spodding and using a Marker rod.

I think if you can cover all situations with them then why do you need a Bait Boat.

I would much rather have a bad day creeping up with a cast, and taking loads of attempts to put it in the right spot. You may look a numpty taking 30minutes getting it right, but when it goes off with a Big Fish then you feel good. Mind you, you feel annoyed to heck when that perfectly placed cast under the tree at 70metres gets taken by a Tench

Take the tench out of the equation with something they cant eat.
Bait boats have their place in carp fishing, used with care they are not a problem and a valuable tool,i dont own one...yet but will do soon.

You cant drop 2 kg of mixed hemp and pellet in one go with a spod rod,i can spod and bait up regular,8 - 10 spods of mixed particle and pellet,3 spots a couple of nights a week on a big water and it takes time and i and the kit gets covered in sticky sh@t,with a bait boat half the time...maybe less...hardly any mess.

...to me...

yer can`t beat droppin in baits from a catty, like the clonk works for catfish...the catty sound attracts sea-gulls from the coast ..does it... the sound.. get amplified to the carp :/......then if you can sneak a lead in or already sneaked a lead in with less explosion of a boilie ..yer`ve crack`d it in me boook

it may be a lot less bover with a hover :)..and a damn seet less effective ...have thee tried golf..or as theee fell off thee trollies or gone overboard with theee hover..`kin numpties
