hiya i have just been offered a set of greys platinum 3lb tc rods anyone got any views on them . i have already got some century ngs 2.75tc and a set of fmjs, im thinking of selling my fmjs as they are not the best players and buying the platinums for my trips to france,any opinions would be much appreciated

that is useful information. if the rods suit what you want then buy them. I'm sure if you actually used your noggin and did a search you may find out more.

I know 3 peeps who have had these rods, and everyone
has broke at least one of 'em . . .

You'd be better off whipping some eyes on some garden
canes and saving your hard earned.

Why change what isn't broken?
You have 2 sets of very good rods that will cope with everything you will encounter in carping from margin work to extreme distance and due to Century's autoclave process will last a very long time.

Personally I can't see the point of moving to a set of far eastern cheapos with a hefty price tag. Some of Greys' stuff is great yet they do or have had bad problems with some of their range due to outsourcing blank manufacture.

Good advice FA,if you want a set of bigger rods...go for ng,s,u already got some and theres plenty about in the 2nd hand market,just got a set of Torrix 12 ft 3 1/4 50's more doh but built to last.

i gave the platinums a miss and have just bought a set of rod hutchinson dream maker mk2 intrigues instead absolute awesome rods,well chuffed france here i come
