Duck Tales

Life is like a hurricane here in Duckburg
Race cars, lasers, aeroplanes - it's a duck blur
You might solve a mystery or rewrite history

Duck Tales, Oo-oo
Tales of derring-do, bad and good luck tales, oo-oo

D-d-d-danger, watch behind you - there's a stranger out to find you
What to do? Just grab onto some Duck Tales, oo-oo!
Not pony tails or cotton tails but Duck Tales, oo-oo!

When it seems they're headed for the final curtain
Bold deduction never fails, that's for certain
The worst of messes become successes!

Duck Tales, Oo-oo
Tales of derring-do, bad and good luck tales, oo-oo
Not pony tails or cotton tails but Duck Tales, oo-oo!

Not me, I'm too light even with lead wellies on! :
Pretty hairy walking over it, you just had to feel your way before you put all your weight there, went up the knees a few times and always made a few trips for the gear too.
Makes the backside twitch I can tell you! lol.

Well time for a little update
been on the gaff in short spurts
just a few hours but i got a result the other day 25 lb common
but heavly spawn bound looks like they be at it soon
so after catching that i'll be giveing the lake a miss till Mother Nature takes it's cause and do the circle of life
on the lake.
But i'll be still going up there watching for the one i want

Hey Brian,
Was down there myself about 11am today.
Family night out last night night so I had a bit of a lie in and an hour or two recovery period.
Couldn,t be assed driving far so grabbed the lure rod and a pocket of rubber shads.
Get there and third cast hit into a jacky of about 3lb.
Aha the lucky hat is defo doing the biz Im thinking.
Unhooking the monster in the water and just having got hold of the hook in the jaw when it decides to do a barrel roll.
Feck size 2 hook straight into the thumb and feck instantly dragged back out again, creating a nice slash across the top of the fumb.
Now that hurt and would it stop bleeding?
I was back home within 15 minutes of leaving the house.Even the Bint shouted as she heard the door open "Haven't you left yet?"
Defo the quickest session I have ever had.
And to think I piseed myself laughing when my mate hooked himself in the nose.LOL

Well got to the lake at about 3pm noticed the point swim was empty so i trekked my way there .

rods out and that plus a comical photo \:D
hope you like that one lads
Well get down to the serious stuff now .On 2 rods my chosen attack was bloodworm boilies fished no more than 10ft apart
on the third it was tigers fished out well away from the other two rods

Loads of dandelion seeds and other stuff was floating on the water started to get a few liners soon after five in the afternoon then a screamer on the right hand rod but as soon as i lent in to it i new what it was old red eye (Tench)
and that what happened through my whole session tench after tench. I know this is supposed to be a carp angling blog bu i did get a pleasant surprise at just after 6:30 in the morning a huge male tench at 6lb 2oz that would make any specimen hunter well pleased.
Well the runs began to dry out not long after that and the carp which had been crashing out tempting over my baits had stopped
At about 8;30 got a call from the wife what time will you be home you know where going to court hey park today
so reluctantly i started to break down and get my gear together
on leaving the lake humping all my gear i bumped into one of the park wardens. Who i knew for many years through his talks on wildlife he gives to the kids at schools and libraries in the area . Being the bloke he is he help me with my gear and kindly gave me a lift home'
Maybe i should go Tenching next time i just might catch a carp then .But being such a hard water for them i doubt it as members who have fished the water will testify

PS soz Keith to have missed you mate
