Orient no mate i have never fished the trent mersey but dont know anything about it but it is a canal so i would fish it like the bidgewater. Look for moored boats , reed beds , have a day plumbing and find some deep holes. Winde holes are fairly deep where boats turn, try baiting up likely looking spots ; with sprat and mackerel and oily fish. Look for fry under bridges they hold up this time of year thats how i fish the bridgewater .Me and my mates have done really well over the last 5 years .If i was you i would stay on the bridgewater sooner or later it is going to do a big fish people underestimate the canal there are some really big fish in there, my mate had a 25lb+ last year ,and some guy on sunday had a 22.6lb on deads from the barn owl stretch. So i am thinking i will keep on plugging away on there untill i catch one of the big crocs. Good luck if you go on the trent mersey and let me know how you go on mate. But the colour on there at the moment isnt that good, with all the rain the water draining in from the feilds has turned the water very brown, it fishes much better when it is clear, but i dont mean that you will not catch fish , but you may struggle a bit. Try using oily fish and over flavour them its a good bet ill be back on sunday mite see you on there . Nice one !
