Well now it seems to be getting a little milder, what are u all up to!!!
I know Pete G has had a few out of the Mere (at last). Been fishing Barleys...I still cant work it out..last week I had 2 known 20s and 3 doubles in 4 hours and wait for it.......I lost 4, went yesterday and BLANKED.
I missed out on the Mere for 2002, but Ive just renewed at Barleys, hopefully I will have some off the top (I am a virgin went it comes to surface fishing).
I know Ive asked b4 but Im looking for a prolific 20s water with a good chance of a 30 near Grimsby...I know Im asking for blood out of a stone but its worth a try.
Anyway looks like Im off to Selby 15/16th with Jon and I think Pete G will be there, parading his Armadillo!!!

Alrite mate, well done on the twenties that you had out of there. Pete said that you had them when i spoke to him the other day. Anyway i know a really good lake but it is in Lincoln. Its called Rcihmond lakes, you probably know it but it has got alot of twenties in and a slight possibility of a 30 this year. Is there any places at Barleys this year cause i wud'nt mined joining there if there is a possibility of a place. Ive had a few decent fish out of Aby over the winter. Last week i had the same fish twice at 16lb 6oz, so they are definately feeding. Anyway you will have to come down for a seshion either at aby or authorpe sometimes.

P.s Good to see you kept the post going.

Cheers, wilko

Wilko??? Is that u Jimmy from Aby???
If so drop me ur name and address and I will put ur name down, the only thing is u have to wait until the members from 2001 have had there chance to join, then they write to u at the begining of June (it happened to me last year!!). But it is a good doubles water....but let me warn you that it isnt like Aby...if you get a fish you will be unlucky for it not to be a double. Anyway I know for sure now there a 4 different 20s in there now..a 24lb Common (Roger), a 22lb Linear (myself), a 20:02 Mirror nicknamed TwoTone and another Common at 21lb.
Theres no rats, no restrictions, running water, a toilet, u can night fish...its just a really nice place and I love it!
Richmond??? Its Bivvy CITY Ive heard!!!

Willowbank - Not my cup of tea but the fishery carries a decent stock and if you fancy a bash at the cats around here there`s little alturnative choice outside of syndicated lakes.
Lake 1 and lake 2 are ones to go for.
Willowbank is found approx. 1-2 miles north out of Kirton Lindsey on the Messingham road.

Steve.do Rodger and Brian still fight to get their caravans as close to the point as possible? Nice to see your still catching by the way.If your after stalking em off the top, wait for the sun to shine and get yourself in the reeds.
They usually stack up in there once the sun is out.
Good luck.

Now then Lads,

Where are you all goin fishing this weekend. I am off to Authorpe for the weekend. I went last weekend with a few lads from louth and we all blanked. Its only just opened though so it may be tough to catch a fish for a week or two. Nick was fishing from M16 bait services. He had a run about midnight when i was around his bivvy having a cuppa with him, unfortunately he lost it. If any of you fancy coming down this weekend for a seshion your more than welcome.

Cheers, wilko

Can't believe I'm reading about these waters; I grew up on them back in the early 80's, catching my first double from Authorpe in 83. What's in them these days? Authorpe used to contain one scrapper 20 and I don't recall Aby having owt over mid-doubles. I take it Clive now runs Authorpe after the sad untimely loss of Joe?

Is Fulstow still a going concern?

Love to here how my old stomping ground is doing.
