Hi mate, You might know my dad, his name is Paul Wilkinson and he used to fish the lakes around that time. Anyway there are still a couple of 20's in Authorpe with alot of high doubles coming out regulally. Aby however has been sold a few years ago to a bloke called Geoff Traves and has a few fish approaching the 20 mark. The picture under my name is of a fish out of Aby at 16lb 4oz. What is your name and i'll mension it to my old man.

Cheers, wilko

Real name Jon Wilson (back in those days everyone used to call me Johnny). In fact there used to be a swim on Authorpe that Clive always refered to as Johnny's Swim. Bet he can't even remember which one it is.

Your dad's name does ring a bell but, then again, wasn't there a Paul Wilkinson that used to play for the Mariners?

Has there been some fish stocked in Authorpe? It didn't have much of a head of fish back then and was one of the harder waters in the area.

Another guy that might know me is Clive Dennison. I know he still does a bit cause he wrote a piece in Nelly's book, River Carping. In fact I'm fishing with Nelly this w/e - RMC Speccy group fish-in at Tyringham (barbelling).

Please tell me some more - It ain't half bringing back some memories....

Be lucky
