Does anybody or has anybody fished any rivers in yorkshire that offer the chance of some decent carp??,i've fished the trent for them but would like to know if the rivers in my home county are a prospect,as alot of the rivers in the region are more like open sewers not fisheries!,cheers gus..

I know the Leeds stretch on the Wharfe at Ulleskelf holds carp. I do not know how big they go but I have heard of fish up to 16lb but have never witnessed them.

So my susspitions could be right!,all the rivers in yorkshire are shite and devoid of carp,but does some one know otherwise?????..gus

Cheers tom,thats the only river too that has been mentioned to me that holds carp, but the info is far too sketchy to seriously act on,some guy told me some barbel lads had landed a few, but that he'd seen guys on there with carp gear??..gus..

both knotfords have flooded again in to the wharfe gus must b worth a try when the waters gone down, maybe a chance of a 30.........

Matt that sounds intresting fella,got me itching a bit that!similar situation to the trent thats why there's carp on all the pit sections of the river,A1 ,smeatons ect,ever thought of giving it a shot your self?also who controls the river up there,cheers gus;)..

yer i was goin to give it a go but never got round to it, u know how it is.

i think some off the river behind leeds knotford is on the leeds book but not sure where, i think leeds have 1 bank and otley have the other.

as 4 the carp biggest i've been tolds been out was 16.08 but there could b bigger...
