I have recently moved to Horsham, Sussex and wondered if any of you out there had fished in the area and know of any decent lakes, I know of a few but alot are 'pay & fish' and I would really rather join a club or syndicate.

ta,
Rich.

Like all things depends what you want, Hawkins Syndicate may be your cup of tea - local, some nice commons up to 30lb, good suroundings and not too expensive. I haven't fished it but I know several people who have and they all rate it.

Or 45 mins drive to Chichester Leisure Centre and some rock hard gravel pits where the big fellers live.

Believe it or not you can still get the map out and search, but I'll let you find out for yourself!

Would avoid the day ticket waters, some dodgy imports on some waters etc...

Good luck and hope this is of help

Paul,

I think you are right about some of the day ticket waters, I think a number of the fish speak foriegn langauges!

I have looked at Hawkins but haven't really found anyone who has fished it much, do you know what the head of fish is? (i.e. how many 20s etc.)

ta,
Rich.

This should get you some info on the place.

Looks a nice/quiet place to go, otherwise as I said go down to Chichester, can be something of a madhouse but Vinetrow is worth looking at. Only thing is you need to be carefull of tackle thiefs as the public have access to it. Best to fish in two's etc.. some good fish in there. I fancy giving it a crack after I've finished on another water in the locality. It's hard fishing though, 2-3 fish all season isn't bad going!

I live in Sussex and have found it very difficult to get into syndicates.
Tell me what size fish your after? Difficult or easier fishing?
I’ll try and help the best I can.
