I used to fish a lake that was full of water skiers, and twice a month held formula 2 power boat meetings. The fish for one didn't give a crap. I caught fish here in the middle of a race meeting. I guess they were just all use to it. I never had a problem with the boats. the lake did, as the waves continually washed away any swims that had been built and the lake's size increased every year. The only time I had a problem was when one skier can within feet of the bank and soaked me. A few warning shots accross his bow with my old trust black widdow did the trick.
The wind did make a difference on this lake, The fish floowed new winds to the letter, and early on in the year when the fish spawned they would then seek out a quieter area.
Prebaiting did help, but seemed to bring all the smaller fish onto the bait. I had a greater number of bigger fish when using just stringers with a light scattering of bait. It was a case of first fish gets it. Reducing the overall numbers of fish, but increasing the quality.
But then this will depend on the lake and not really the effect of boats.
