Ian, what is the latest thinking on the idea of joining the North Lake with the Car Park Lake?
Obviously, there was much press speculation last year and arguments on both sides. Most Yateley anglers I know are opposed to any such scheme, but it could prove a solution to the horrendous pressure on the Car Park Lake experienced last year. Has the concept been shelved or is it on the back-burner still depending on what happens this year?

I remain very much in favour of the idea and believe it will greatly ease the pressure the Car Park has been under and create a superior fishery in the long term.

As you rightly say the Yateley regulars were against the idea so out of respect for their wishes we did not go ahead but instead put a separate, small syndicate on the North and Car Park Lake to reduce the number of anglers allowed to fish them. We also reduced the number of rods allowed from 4 all year round to 2 rods summer and autumn, 3 rods winter.

Time will tell if these measures have worked but I think joining the two is ultimately the way forward at Yateley. I would love to hear what everyone else thinks....
