depends on which water.
i use snake skin on clear gravely waters where nothing can tangle with the multi strand and on silty waters i use the bite. both in my opinion are excellent hooklink materials. however i would like the coating to be a bit stiffer.
there is supposedly another similar to these but with a toughter outer coating that is stiffer than that of skin or bite, i think it is called Super Man-Tis. I would be interested to here if anyone has used this and what it is like.

I`ll go with Squiz on this one and add that i prefer the skin for pva bags as it`s more supple.
Skin is definately not idiot friendly and requires a bit of patience to tie up and preening of loose strands to keep it in shape.
Paul has some of new Mantis (i think it might be released as Viper or Venom) on trial, apparently it`s a bit of a chore to pick out the coating as it`s woven into the material,a bit like picking out the braid from silkworm.
I believe Kryston are to push this new material as an alturnative to stiff link materials such as the fluorocarbons.
