i use a bait boat but only when iam fishing out off my casting, spoding range and with in reason, the no1 prioraty is never puting the carp in any danger,i normally fish alone so its realy differcalt rowing 3-4 rods out at a time, the bait boat makes presintation at range so much easyer, another good use for the bait boat is feature finding you can easly miss little features just plumbing around so i feel it gives me that extra edge needed.

would richard walker or any of the other ground breaking carp fisherman have used them
if they had them avalible,i think so.

you have to move with the times or youll get left behind.

Here's a little question for you all.

Which is more annoying, someone using a baitboat, or someone playing with, adjusting their alarms, without turning them down??

Bait boats, if you have one, use it.

If you use it like an idoit, then you are one.

Why bitch about someone using a boat at 300yds.......Arent we all trying to cast 120+, heck that wasnt cricket years ago.....

A tool for the job. Like the rest of our gear.

Now Im off to blow up my inflatable boat...Put on an echo sounder and search my local lake bed.....Is that wrong because Im not doing it with a marker float??????

What about 300yds tight up against bad snags, thats not cricket for the fish is it,well it might be like getting a full toss in the teeth. In my opinion baitboats can be a good safe method of bait placement in certain situations. If placing bait under overhanging trees you will never overcast leaving tackle up trees,or if placing bait in open water at distance no problems with crack offs etc.My point is to some people the safety of the fish is not a consideration, its just catch at any cost.I challenge any of the people who use a baitboat to place a bait at 300yds tight up to bad snags to justify it on here, any takers?

What a crock of cr*p.

You can't use a baiboat at 300 yards because you wouldn't be able to SEE the bloody thing!!!

150 yards is far enough!

I agree with Carpmanchris, I have trouble seeing mine at 100 yards - and I'm not joking!

I've a feeling that if this is the water I think it is. the fish will just go up the other end of the lake. Where a friend imforms me that there are 4 very well used swims on the no fishing bank. Making it harder than it is allready is.

I have caught fish on a local lake casting to the same spot some lads use a boat to reach, not a distance cast but close to reed beds. If they feel happy doing this then so be it.
Like it's been said before a boat is just another tool.
I don't have one but if the need arises who knows.

It is a laugh though when a boat get stuck...
