Whats your setup for suface fishing?
I mean whats the setup that you have most confidence in?
A guy i spoke to the other day has been doing really well at 3 lakes just using 12lb line straight though in conjuction with a drennan surface controller. No fancy flurocarbons ect.I ask as i'm useless at suface fishing and it's about time i tried to sort this out as i'm missing out on some excellent summer fishing.

Also which hooks do you prefer?

Thanks,

Pete.

F*x bubble float, A fairly short (about 2ft) length of multistrand. Mainline Connection series 2 I think size 10. It can be a bit inclined to tangle so any thoughts on avoiding that would be useful.

Floating Trout pellet hair rigged using a bait band.

But the trick is to get the fish feeding strongly and competing before casting out.

I've found that some days the fish are ultracautious other times theres no stopping them - I've not really worked out why but I tend to find find May best.
