Who wins the battle of the top (Daiwa) pit reel ? I have 2 Emblem Z's and I need another 2 pit reels but I still can't decide which of the above to go for. I would be grateful for any suggestions as to what to go for. I am not that bothered if they don't match as I only ever use all four when fishing abroad.

I would definitely go for The Infinity if you can afford them, Bob.

Thanks Paul. I am gonna wait a bit for one of two things. My lottery syndicate pays off or the price goes down a bit. I have learnt, from experience that when buying newly released tackle it pays to wait a month or so when the initial interest loses momentum. This is when the price goes down and I, (a shrewd consumer), step in for the kill.

Bob,
Having checked out the new Infinity's last time I was in the shop, I have to say I wasn't hugely impressed. Nice pieces of kit don't get me wrong but over priced at the same time I reckon. Do you really think they will catch you more fish than a set of Tournaments or Emblem Z's?

I'm going to get a set of TS5000T's soon as I reckon they are still the best reel but I am impressed with the Emblem Z's and you get a spare spool to boot. As I am not fussed on using baitrunners I don't see the point of paying an extra £100-£120 per reel. Money better put aside for quality bait or for a new syndicate ticket I have lined up for the spring.

Paul,
What would you recommend out of the Tournament or the Emblem and which one all things being equal would cast further? Also which is the most reliable in your opinion? Don't worry, Daiwa will get my money one way or the other as I prefer their reels to the Shimano versions!

Any thoughts appreciated. Cheers.
