andy d, What's wrong with the Snake Pit? I have heard it is a lovely lake with nice quiet surroundings. . . not I am sure someone will know and hopefully post - but have you looked in the BK list of carp waters? There must be something in there. I have also found that anywhere I want to fish in the UK the first stop is the local tackle shops - if you ask the right questions, appear genuine, serious and interested then you can usually get some good leads. Its then the usual round of phone calls etc. The other option, and one I like to do, is to get the OS map out and look for all the blue bits - you would be suprised at what you can find on a really small scale map - and just (carefully and thoughtfully) visit them. That's what Chris Yates used to do and look what happened to him! hope this helps Steve

Andy, If it's a NICE syndicate water you want, try RMC's Amwell. Whilst it's not in Essex (Hertfordshire) it's a great place to fish, quiet, picturesque, secluded and with some great fishing...£125 pa can't be bad! Simon

Andy If you decide on Amwell watch out for the tree`s as things/bodies tend to fall out out of them when you least expect it. Chris S

Don't worry Andy, Chris finds my tree climbing (falling) exploits hilarious Yeah, Amwell's not easy but then again I guess it's not difficult, let's face it if I can catch from there I think anyone could! Have a chat with Ian, I'm sure he can arrange for you to have a look round..... Cheers Simon

This is a little bit of leg pulling regarding Simon N, if you ask nicely he may tell you the story. Chris S
