I have used both Fox swingers and bobbins and it really comes down to personal preference in the end. For what it is worth I like Bobbins but Swingers are fine and will do the job no problem.

Rich.

These things go in and out of fashion don't they? I'm still using some Mk1 Swingers, which I have modified by substituting the original clip with an adjustable one. To be honest, I'm not sure it has actually improved them, but if you fished through the early 70's, you will have developed the compulsion to modify everything, regardless of whether it is necessary. In their favour, the counter-balance is easily adjustable, and they are more or less immune to side winds. I have found no need to change them.

I use Nash Butt Bangers and Fox Mark 2 Swingers. Both are good, and do what I expect them to do. I don't see any advantage in change. They'll do you proud, Warcop.
As someone who fished in the past with silver paper, Fairy Liquid tops and wine bottle tops they are a big improvement...
