I don’t think anything tempts people to post on a forum! They either do or they don’t!
In a way it’s self perpetuating the more information or debate that is posted the greater the chance of reply, and on and on it goes.
What makes one forum busy, yet others not so? That is a difficult question to answer. There may not even be a definitive answer just conjecture. It is safe to say that most topics of any real worth have already been done to death. By virtue of that, the general trend is for forums to be very quiet compared to the past.
Forums that are still fairly active tend to be populated by mostly younger anglers posting mainly the basics and the banal. To the older or more experienced angler it’s just the same old same old, being regurgitated for the next new generation to our sport. True just by sheer weight of numbers, there are occasional topics of worth. But these tend to be few and far between.
After writing the above it has occurred to me, that if you look at it one way it could even be argued that it is mainly ignorance that tempts people to post on forums?
