Big carp over the last few years I have been chase-in big carp and this thread is just about how in brief of what has gone on. Why put this in a thread as it’s a question. The question is would you carrier on. Ok will start with how it started had a big common in my region and at the time it was a Big common for the country to be fair as most of the big fish down south where big mirrors so I had a big common in my region had to have a big mirror so the pond I picked had a bigger common and a mirror I had the big mirror just the big common left. in the meantime Romania had hit the headlines and there were lots of big big commons so because I was angling local I could stretch the wallet to chase-in the biggest amount of commons on the planet I could not let this chance go as even in rest of Europe there were no commons of this size and the amount so had to go.

Now this is where the question starts! on returning from my trips from Romania my local pond I found the big mirror died and rest it to the ground them week later the big common died . Now both fish where a big loss to the region and at the time at 35plus big targets for anyone. So I had the commons in Romania the next summer I got a phone call from my good friend it was from Romania I knew he was out there and to get a call at first I thought it would not be good Joe there all died I could not be leave it.

So plans of getting a big common was put to one side. So i trying to beat my local mirror was put together a pond in reading and a day’s only water in Kent would be nice as the mirror I caught local was days only and the fish in reading was a big carp and the days only water had many 35plus and just to be sat on the banks of a day’s only water with so many big carp would be nice I had my local mirror beat after a few days on the days only water in Kent and at its top weight which was good So over too reading and my second trip I found the reading carp died it was 50plus. So back to Kent long story kept short 4years angling a divorce and good job lost I found the biggest of biggest carp died at top weight 65lb this all this has happened between 2004-2010 the question would you carrier on as every big carp I chased I found died . Would you carrier on

If you're not getting the buzz Joe, have a break from it or do another form of angling for a bit. Just going through the motions is worse I've found because you're not enjoying it and not fishing effectively.

when I lose the carp fishing bug like I did last year due to my chosen water, at the time, losing all of its fish due to ice enclosure i spent the summer doing up my garden then spent the autumn on the rivers.

Carp are fantastic guys but sometimes a change is as good as a rest.

Sooooooooo need to get rid of this man flue rollocks that kept me laid up this week dust of the carpy rods and go and have a crack cos I feel me mojo returning and if I do catch owt it I'll tell the world just like normal lol
