I'm seeing increasing numbers of visitors to my lakes fishing with a swan shot/BB on longish hairs when fishing boilies...why on earth? Eyecrazy

Has someone recently been promoting this in the UK magazines, as I can see no benefit whatsoever, in what must be a 'kitchen' rig surely?

By the way, the anglers in question are catching very few or no carp, but the cats don't seem to mind.... rofl

I can see a potential benefit if used with a bouyant hookbait and the shot is close to the hook.... other than that, with bottom baits it would just decrease hooking efficiency... wave

There's your answer, Danny 'rig guru' Fairbrass is to blame. Funnily enough most of the shite spouted today seems to be associated with him! lol

heard of using a number 4 with a pop-up near the bend of a hook...but if you use a wafter with a little putty on the bend of the hook instead...... ylsuper

aaaaaaargh! He's so boring and annoying that I can't help but switch off the instant that monotone savvern speech impediment sounds.

I still can't work out how someone that sells a few lead weights has become one of the top 'names' today yet every programme or dvd I've seen he gets outfished all the time!

I have to admit that i to,use the swan shot, but that's because i'm using Dynamite 20mm pop ups,it's the easiest way to sink them, cheaper than Heavy metal.I'm using the Johnmac rig with the swan on the tag end of the loop with a size 6 - 4. Is it only on pop up rigs Paul,or bottom bait rigs ?

The cheek of it, you bedwetting shandy drinker! lol
I'll have you know that I am fluent in three languages, English, Northumbrian/Geordie, and Jockanese! We have to learn Jockanese so we can tell the backwards muppets to bugger off back over the border seeing as we're the Guardians of England. If it wasn't for us you limp wristed southern ponces would be wearing plaid skirts now. lol
