How long do you feel it is till you consider yourself a none carper?.

I have not really (just the odd occasion) fished in the UK for around 3 years now and have not cast a line at all since France last year.

Although I dont miss it at all, I still read a few forums that hold my intrest.

Am I a none carper now?

I haven't said I'm a carp angler for several years now due to the stinking attitude and behaviour of so called 'carpers' tarnishing our image and earing us the nickname of 'bivvy divvy'.

Specialist angler that targets carp and pike does it for me

watch it you some of us bivvy divvys still browse and there might be a fish-in in the furture lol hows things

not been fishing for approx 6 weeks me ,college courses at work and bits n bobs to do for people are taking up my time at the mo..but am gonna get a night soon before a fish-in next week to check i still know how to set up

I'm sure I'd still get labelled as a bivvy divvy if any carper haters saw me fishing Joe

I prob look like a right noddy when I'm out seeing as I don't plaster myself in realtree, don't have a green unhooking mat (old Nash monster mat), use a combination of stainless and ally banksticks, don't have matching alarms (2 ST and 1 ES), don't have matching luggage, etc. Add to that the fact that I am the epitomy of organised chaos in everything I do, as well as being a clumsy oaf that keeps getting hooks in fingers, spills glug on everything, etc, and you get the picture

My enthusiasm for carping has also come and gone a lot over the last few years. I didn't fish for carp or much at all in 2008 (and didn't miss it either) but that was partly due to work taking up all my time. At the min I have a pretty high enthusiasm for carping and fishing in general that I put down to being in a syndicate on a completley private estate lake and having a 7 year old nephew that is keen to learn how to fish.

Friday night sees me and my old mukka Big Ron Woodward boarding the ferry bound for France. Two weeks on Croix Blanche as a guest to Gareth Watkins. Just the 2 of us have the whole complex to ourselves and Gareth will be filming the events of the 2 weeks.

I have never been to the water and I dont really know much about the place, but am greatly looking forward to it and wetting a line again.

I guess the bug never really leaves you eh?
