Just gone through a year of feeling exactly the same, John. However, I'm now back into it with a passion, somuch so, that for the first time in many years, I'm going to fish the winter. I wont catch anything, but I'm getting out there - just take some time out mate and enjoy it all the more when you return

If angling started for you, when you were a kid and the fascination of catching anything was there... then I guarantee it still is.
As said have a change, fishing offers so many different challenges and each one has its own merits, we are now heading into Perch, Pike and Chub season get out there and try some thing different... re-discover fishing and detach yourself from the madness of carping

You need to get on a decent water my boy, as Paul said, and I agree, find that little piece of Paradice la.

I currently fish two waters, one a syndicate in Cambs 80 acres and 80 members and the other a club water in shrops, the water in shrops is 40 acres and if i see 6 anglers on there at any time its packed, ask stez.

Not surprised about the way you feel Jonny, I would be the same if I fished many of the waters in the NW
Cant believe some of the stuff I've heard about whats going on on some NW waters, Bailiffs to soft to stand up to the piss takers, people being threatened with violence if they fished certain swims leave the catch at all costs W**KERS to it as there are plenty of places to go and escape the madness and enjoy what angling is all about

There is a few double figure barble in the Ribble

Barbel are just an elongated cousin of the common carp these days though aren't they?

And you can bet that when you turn up to your chosen stretch of river, it's lined solid with bivvies, all with three rods with bolt rigged boilies/pellets on...
