due to the conditions allowed through lack of snaggs etc..
I`ve gone down to 8lb mainline,1 oz running leads,6lb hooklength,10`s fox ssc`s barbed..a bouyant bead with past wrapped round on the hair(paste of the same bait as the 10mm`s i`m baiting with)
to see if i can get atleast sommat to bite now winter as just hit us properly yesterday.
anyone else adjusting and what to???
have you any recommendations for slower winter fishing tactics simillar you`d like to share which may boost the confidence ???

What's the stocking density Timbs ? Is there loads of em or just a few ? ie - is there competion for food ?

You can change what you like as far as end gear is concerned...but it's carp you're after not tench or roach !

Very small stocking bags of low oil pellet, half dipped in Mazola...the ultimate winter oil(winterised red salmon oil from Vision is a good second best). Watch the slick, the silvers will be going crazy in it,Mr Carp will not be far away.

stocking density is unknown j. due to being unfished, so going for the light tackle and will working my way up as i get the feel for whats feeding on what etc..plenty of bait gone in regular over the last two months and fishing it for the first time after a week break of prebaiting..its hit or miss really..did i leave it too late prebaiting this mahoosive water..soon find owt and fingers crossed!!

Good luck, sounds like my kind of place.

Big waters take longer to warm up...they also take longer to cool down.
