Received the new stock from VS Fisheries today to compliment the existing stock yay. These are the Sovereign strain which consist of Sutton, Leney/Sutton & Leney/Dink strain of fish, 30 C3's were added with 50 fingerlings to grow on at our leisure.

Some Piccies

Fishery is now closed till the new year to allow existing and new stock time to settle in together.

Nice one Cal exiting times you are living most carp anglers dream. smile Great to see fish of that size and proportions being stocked. Some real stunners there mate. That linear is going to be a real target fish in a few years time. Perhaps I am an old romantic but I love to see fish coming through, growing to their potential in the environment they live.

I wish you all the very best with the new fish, lets hope they live long and grow to a good size. thumbsup

Time for an update, we have been so impressed with the C3 we got from VS Fisheries that we decided to stock some more albeit a little bigger than the previous lot, this time C5 & C4'S went into the lake, same strain as before i.e. Sutton, Leney/Dink, Leney/Sutton crosses.

Few photo's of new stock, put in on Jan14 2011.

The C5's averaged 14&1/2lb and the C4's 10 1/2lb. The C3's put in on Dec09 have averaged 3-4lb in weight gains which is respectable, with the biggest caught going 13.12 from 5.04!! Biggest landed to date in 2010 was a lovely dark mirror just shy of 30 which is up 3lbs from 2009 figures, sadly 2/3rds of the fish hooked last year were lost due to inadequate tackle and snags, will update later in the year to see how things are going for the lake, one last pointer we now have a stock lake for the fingerlings/small carp we are growing on, at just over an acre it's a lovely little intimate water.

Time for an update, it's been a while :D, the Fishery is starting to show good potential with some stunning fish coming through with respectable weight gains and more importantly healthy looking fish, last summer the Fishery did it's first 30 at 30.06 which was one of the originals, the VS Stockies have been progressing nicely and are turning up with some lovely character markings, and wow have they gone dark in the crystal clear water, some examples below of what was then, and what is now.

Tango 6lbs when stocked in Dec09,

Lately 17.08

Last Jan 14.04 (2011)

Lately 20.04 along with a 21.08 common.

Some fish caught over the last 12 months or so.

Give it a couple of years yay, touchwood beer it'll be a good un!!
