I've had enough of it this year, even mid week is stitched up. Too many dickheads spending too long on the bank. What's really done it for me though this time,and I'll gladly accept that it's more than likely just me who feels like this, is just the sheer selfishness of people. The lengths that people are going to, in terms of the amount of time they spend on the bank, the amount of bait they're putting in, rule breaking, intimidation and general bullsh1t. What comes next when the 3 day sessions or kilo's of bait or planned stitch up's don't come off? How you gonna' keep your 'results' up when the next bloke starts using a set-line or a fcuking trawler net? All just for fcucking bragging rights. Honestly I've had enough of it. The whole chav infested culture of Carp fishing these days is geared towards the adolescent hero worship of what are often, or at least appear to be very, very dull people whose only talents and achievements seem to be spending huge amounts of their 'proffesional' time boring semi-tame carp after semi-tame into submission - Hutchy and Binyon they're most definitely not. It's stupid and I'm not sure I want to be a part of it any more there's more to life and certainly a lot more to fishing Anyway,bollox to it. Schooch Outstanding FW Member Registered: 04/05/07 Posts: 474	The odd times ive been able to get out this year have been down to oxford on a syndicate at a cost of £750, to find it totally stitched up and all the pegs that are known producers being rotered, and then having to make do with a crap peg!! That isn’t angling in my eyes; it’s just become one big rat race!! I remember when I used to start getting butterflies when I got near my venue in anticipation years ago now it is just stress hoping there is a decent peg free.

That'll get rid of most of 'em To be fair, you expect the waters to be stitched up at weekends, but if I couldn't even get a decent swim mid-week I'd wonder why I bothered too. And if the syndicate fee was £750, I'd expect those running it to keep the numbers low enough to ensure that swims were available at weekends, particularly for those travelling long distances to fish.

And you can bet that when you turn up to your chosen stretch of river, it's lined solid with bivvies, all with three rods with bolt rigged boilies/pellets on...

Its only small but fish go to 25lb and are in perfect condition its sheer bliss and its only £45 including night ticket with another water also which sees no pressure what so ever and holds fish to 30+ from what ive heard in the past _________________________ some people say i look like albert steptoe but he wasnt ginger

Rushden has taken my eye off the ball this year and even the chance of new lakes and possible wackers has not managed to ignite the passion I have for the sport. I went to oxford last week and could have fished for 7 nights but was ready for home after 4 which is just not like me. I have spent nearly 2 years fishing in perfect peace on a canal catching carp to 26lb pounds.. average weight about 10lb and happy I have been, fishing evenings and the odd early morning, after several repeat captures now I fancy a change.... I am fortunate enough be in a v good club but have recently been invited to an exclusive fishery - no big carp, but unknown (to me) fish...25lb ish plus maybe. Without this I would feel very frustrated, saddened and further adrift of what mr average can enjoy without the new wave scene being involved - who regularly are destructive rather than . . . . . .interesting.

If one wants to fish a secluded pond, pool, lake or resevoir without company of much one should buy and ordance sureay map in the area and explore. It is this exploration that can lead to total annoyance or total satisfaction. I have a very good book which is titled "Away from the Sodding Crowd". It is not an angling book, but it gives an illustration of what one can do when bored and does not want to go to..... lets say Alton Towers or even the Blackpools. A day spent driving around in your car with the missus visiting new pubs and new areas may reveal a new water or two and these waters may be particularly useful as they are away from the 'sodding crowd' and of great interest to you.
