New Century club results fished at Rood Ashton on Sunday 10th February.

In first place was Fred Parker with 72lb

Second place was Andy Bright with 65lb

Third place was Mick Robbins with 39lb

In yesterdays club match fished on the 24th February Andy Dixie exceeded himself with a 95lb 8oz winning weight.

In second place was Mark Ogbourne with 87lb

Third place went to Fred Parker with 77lb 8oz


Section winners were:

Elick Payne with 65lb 2oz

Pete Townsend with 55lb 8oz

Never fished the match Paul, so cant really say.

In New Centurys' club match fished at Rood Ashton on Sunday 9th March yet again it fished exceedingly well!!

Top spot on the day was Pete Townsend with a cracking 94lb.

With Terry Hicks not that far behind in second place with 86lb.

Not too far behind Terry was match organiser John (Magoo) Morgan with 78lb.

Section A was won by Mick Robbins with 60lb 8oz.

Section B went to Elick Payne with 50lb.


Absolutely fantastic

In todays club match fished at Rood Ashton with gusting winds up to 25 miles an hour along with the rain Elick Payne came out on top with 61lb.

In second place was Dave Richardson with 29lb

With third place going to Carl Ogbourne with 28lb.


Sections were won by Dave Read and Matthew Ogbourne.

The clubs next match will be fished at Ridgeway on Easter Sunday 23rd March.

In todays' New Century club match (30th March) at Bourton-on-the-Water in Gloucester, in lovely spring conditions compared to the torrential rain and gales that we had yesterday.

In first place was Phil Mackay with 43lb

Second was Andy Dixie with 26lb 8oz.

Third place went to John (Magoo) Morgan match organiser with 24lb

Section A

Was won by Mick Robbins with 19lb 8oz

Section B

Was won by Pete Townsend with 16lb 8oz.

Feeding pellet with sweetcorn as hook bait seemed to be the most productive method for the day.

There were a few new names in the frame at the latest club match fished yesterday 20th April at the Ridgway fishery.

In first place was John Walker with 26lb-4oz, second place went to Alan Smith with 25lb-4oz with third going to Phil Powell with 25lb.

Winner was match organiser John Morgan with 21lb-8oz


Section B

Going to Carl Marlfield with 21lb.

Just how close could this match have been with any of the top 5 anglers just a fish away of winning it.

In todays (27th April) New Century club match fished at Lily Pool near Ledbury.

1st place was Mick Robbins with 76lb 8ozs.

2nd was Fred Parker with 61lb 8ozs.

3rd place went to John (Magoo) Morgan with 60lb 8ozs. (Magoo you must try harder)


Section A winner with 54lb was Pete (Turnip) Townsend.

With B section going to Alan Smith with 48lb

With the weather just right for a change, near on perfect and in the delightful settings of Pixley Pool the New Century club anglers were full of anticipation and rightly so!!

In first place was Andy Dixie with 158lb 8ozs

Second place was John (Magoo) Morgan with 142lb 10ozs

Third was Fred Parker with 139lb

Section B

Matty Ogbourne with 107lb


All fish caught were on the pole and sweetcorn was definitely the top bait on the day although a few anglers did manage to catch on meat.
