Better photo too this time. ;\)

I've not been streaking for years.

A "friend" took that photo, should have got closer for more flash, asked me to centralise the fish etc etc etc, but a damn sight better than a self take effort. \:\)

Kinell you would not keep still slipping, sliding & rolling round
Considering it was dark, damp & I could not see you, it’s turned out dry again

And besides I noticed there’s no photo of my fish
Oh never mind

A RATHER PLEASANT WEEKEND. \:\)
1
Friday night I arrived at the razzer, only because the swim I fancied on the big lake was occupied, thanks Eka. \:\(
So, a whole lake to myself, needless to say, it rained within 1/2 hour of me arriving, it always does.
A 16 hour blank then home for din-dins.

2
Scorch was out shopping ,supper was going to be late, so off to my least favourite of all lakes for 2 or 3 hours.
2 mid-doubles landed, 1 dropped, that'll do for me.

3
It started snowing about Sat midnight, a good 1" of it.
3" or more on my car at 6.30 this morning, but the roads were clear, so off to the p*** for a morning's bit-bashing, with carp rod(s) out as well.
8 or more roach, no carp.

lake 1, saw my first swallow over the lake, but about 30 of them by the big lake.
lake 2, 2 swallows and about 40 sand martins.
lake 3, no hirundine whatsoever.

The snow melted by 11am, it was roasting hot in the sun, so no need for a jacket......otherwise I wouldn't feel the benefit later.

ANOTHER INTERESTING WEEKEND:

I had a lake to myself for a good 16 hours Friday night to Sat. midday. I was then informed by an angler vacating the lake next door that my lake had been treated with a large amount of weedkiller the previous day.
D'OH!

So, Sunday morning saw me have a short 4 hour session (busy later) on a water I have only fished once before, on a new club ticket. 3 smallish commons hooked, 2 landed, not weighed or photoed, but 10 to 12lb.......ish. ;\)

I'll be back. \:\)

Thursday overnight on the cottonfields ;\) landed a 23.03 common which may or may not have been foul hooked. I shalln't give further details. Suffice to say I may mention it, but won't count it.

Saturday on the p*** lake, lost 2 fish in lily pads, first one was a good clutch stripper, possibly a catfish?

Let's hope 007 did much better, but I'm seriously worried about Ray.

One landed and one lost mate.

I am not so seriously worried about RAY... he ended up with two and one lost.... best a 19lb 4oz common.

Work party was a wash out.... but did get half a dozen leads from the far bank.

Dave

I just realised, 5 of us fished the lake within a similar timespan.
All 5 of us lost fish.

Something better change. ;\)

So, last night was spent on the big Bad lake, ;\) carp rods out at night, then wind one in early morning and floatfish for the tench.
It wasn't very pleasant at 4.15 this morning, so stayed in bed for another hour or so.
In short, no tench to my float rod, just a couple of reasonable sized rudd. However, I had 2 tench on my carp rods of about 4lb each, but they are no fun on a 2.75 rod and a 2oz lead. \:\(

Now where did I leave my golf clubs?

ps. I notice that HARV is still teaching Paul how to catch.

Ho-hum! Back on the big Bad lake for 14 hours Fri/Sat, once again HARV was doing the business, if I'm not mistaken, he and Paul had 2 carp each and a couple of tench, 8lb+ to Paul.

I blanked, and struggled to only catch a few small roach early morning on the float.

So..........back I went again this morning,fishing from 6am until 1 pm.
This was possibly the best day's fishing I have had this year.
After losing my first 2 tench, I upped my tackle from 3lb hooklength to 4lb straight through. This probably cost me bites from the smaller fish, but I did land 12 tench, 2 perch, 1 roach, 1 skimmer and a good 30 odd rudd, unlikely any fish was below 4oz....which was nice. The tench were from 4.04 (weighed) up to 7.10.

The carp rods were surplus, didn't bleep once, and carp were busy spawning on the far bank.
I'll be back, float rod only.

WELL CHUFFED!
