Recieved some bad news today from a mutual friend of Duggy aka Paul Couling that he has saddly passed away after a long illness. Duggy was one of a great bunch of anglers that I met when I began fishing Redesmere in the early 90s and have nothing but fond memories of him. Just want to let people know who have known him over the years who will know what a nice bloke he was.

Very sad news. I had the pleasure of fishing on the Meadow at Redesmere with Duggy a couple of times, and I always enjoyed his company...

Sincere condolences to all his family and friends.... \:\(

Had a lot of laughs with Duggy.
Even when he must have felt terrible he'd come over for a brew and within seconds we'd both be cracking up about something.

He loved a good laugh and he loved his fishing.

Everyone will miss Big Dug.

I was horrified when I heard the news that duggy had passed away. One of the nicest guys in the angling world that I have ever met. Regularly he would call in at my place and we would have a right old laugh. It wasnt that long since I last spoke to duggy and knew he was quite ill again and I'm absolutely gutted he has now gone.
My thoughts go to all his friends and family.

The next time I put one on the bank I will look up to the stars and give you a wink old friend.

I agree with everyones sentiments Douggy was a top guy, I have great memories of fishing the mere at the same time as him and we all had some real fun in those days.
John texted me to tell me and although I hadn't seen him for a while I still felt the void.
RIP Big man.

Very sad, Duggy was a good friend, despite knowing he was very ill, it still came as a great shock to hear the news. I'm sure he will be greatly missed by many around the North West and Shropshire area, especially the lads on Farmwood many of who knew him very well and had kept in touch with him during his illness.

RIP mate..

Met the lad on a few occassions on the Mere. Larger than life character, friendly and a good lad to have a bit of banter with. Got a piccy of him somewhere making Jurassic look like a double (That's how long ago it was, but good memories do last!)

I can only echo what most people have already said about you mate. I had the pleasure of meeting Duggie on the EAC waters and felt immediately at home with a lad who you could have the "craick" with and along with Justin Stephenson (RIP 20:05:07 :() were two of the bravest and strongest guys its ever been my pleasure to call friends and share a session or two with.

Catch a whacker lads...
