I imagime a few on here look at the NW forum and have seen criticism of enzymes in baits...

http://www.northwestcarp.co.uk/forums/carp-bait/8311-enzymes-baits.html

Now I get a trifle upset when people do not have the common decency to explain that they have no knowledge about what they are talking about in the first place (AKA Patos) even more so when ludicrous claims are made by bait firms that their 'enzymes' work before boiling... (more of that later)
Let's have a sensible, unmoderated, discussion... nothing deleted unless offensive... and my definition of offensive is not a lot.... Yes... I am p*ssed off....

Let's see what comes on a lightly moderated forum....

Pete, I allow the link in the interests of education/debate...;\)

Looking at the thread you've linked to it is obvious that most of the posters know very little or nothing at all about this topic, but are happy to mouth off..

Good on you, Pete. I caught hundreds of carp on protein-splitting enzyme baits, as did many of my friends, some of whom are very well known...;\)

I think this post by SAUL says it all really.

"I don't think Pete will ever give up his secret

I've been using the Enzyme for two years and had some very good results, also used the Moonfruit and other variations but the Enzyme does do some funky stuff which the others do not, I'm no scientist, just an angler wanting to use the best bait I can get my hands on and so far I'm very happy with it
"

Now, Pete, I've seen pineapple boilies in shops, do they have crushed pineapple, or even any part of pineapple in them? I think not.
Just because others make "enzyme" boilies, it doesn't necessarily mean that active enzymes are being used with the same function as in your baits.
I think you're just a tad upset because the word "enzyme" is used, ;\) and rightly so too, as the implication is there that the other baits are working to the same principal as yours.
Ergo, if other enzyme baits are nothing special, then why should yours be?

In the past I have used ABS enzyme boilies, very good they were too, have also used ABS poison boilies \:o what's in a name eh?

ps I'll have 5 kilo of yours please, as soon as my freezer is empty, and funds allow.

I think the thing that is most annoying is that some people were suggesting that Pete's bait may be dangerous to fish without coming up with any real evidence
or really knowing what they were talking about, all ending up in a medieval style witch hunt with all the clueless numptys joining in !

Bang out of order in my book with the possible effects to someones business !

Cheers
Saul

well i cant join in a enzyme debate as my head is just not made to take it all in
but it does seem that a small amount of trouble makers have it in for this bait , in fact i had strong words with one such person on another forum a couple of weeks ago and got said posts deleated .
it would seem that its all talk with no evidence to back it up , a case for slander perhaps ?
should be interesting reading in carp world in the next few editions ???????

I read the whole episode as a guest/watcher as i'm not a member & it seems our own Mr. Boughton was set upon by all & sundry. But more than held his own i might add.

Like Saul says, the worst thing about it was that certain posters were claiming that Petes Enzyme was a potential fish killer.

At the time i tried to make myself a member & put my two penneth worth in but my application was rejected because i did not meet the membership requirements.

I think if you re-read the threads on nm people were asking Pete to provide evidence that his bait wasn't dangerous to fish and he was the one reluctant to provide any evidence to the contrary....

This as stated by a nm member probably had more of a detrimental effect on UCN than all the questions and supposed allegations your talking about....

Just mine and scores of other bait using clueless numptys opinions
