Loc: begging for boilies
heres my story of my 4 nighter on a resevoir i fished a couple of weeks back.i`ve done more fishing in france this year but for me this was truely a awsome experience.

so after months of trying to sort a cart de peche out then another couple of months uming and arhing about distance, its a big lake, am i ready for this. all going threw my head, i used to hate those experience`s as a youngster when you get on these big lake`s, setting up with your bottom of the range gear on a totally wind swept day, no one around for what seemed like a day away and soon as you set up you just know there isn`t a fish within a hundred miles of your bait.
so eventually after alot of heart ach threw the lack of fishing, that time came, i felt ready and nothing was gona stop me. so off i set on a tuesday morning, dog in passenger seat, gear all in the boot and i was off.
3 1/2 hours drive and not 60 minutes into the jerney the dog was throwing up what seemed like his full body wait, out the car we both get , to the super market for some cleaning products. very much needed as i was nearlly throwing up a bit further down the road and that was with the sweet smell of lemon zest in the air. 5 1/2 to 6 hours later i finally got to the destination, after the couple of misshaps i wasn`t disheartened but to say i was exited when i saw this gient lake would be a understatement. it toulk me back to moments such as, seeing the flood lights from a away ground from going to watch football as a little kid or the pool when you first arrive on your summer holiday.
finding a lovely spot near some islands, i new it was pointless going for a look round the lake. so i get set up in the chosen swim, only to relise i didn`t bring enough tackle with me and that i would need the bits and bobs i usually carry for emergency, a couple of bb shots and a 1 and a half ounce led i had a rig that was usable. by this time somone else has arrived and jumped in the swim next to me. so i carry on firing out a few spod full`s of pellets and get my throwing stick out ready to top up with a few 20mm boilies, lovely i think to myself i still have some nash f1 and to top them up a small bag of maple not opened, finaly peace and quiet , my bedchair and somthing to eat.
1st night wasn`t very product to be onest but i had a well earned rest and would need it for the couple of days that were to come.almost first light i`m up with dog jumpin on my bed tryin to get warm, so off i take him for a quick walk, quick bonjour to the local housewifes on there morning runs(not knowing how friendly they would get) . anyway to the matter in hand, pondering why i haven`t had a run as yet and noticing all the bivvy`s that had been set up i decided a cup of tea would make me feel better, so it was aproaching mid morning around 9 o clock, you know the time your mind is set on blanking forever, i just get this screaming run. so with matey bike rider watching me upto my knee`s in what only could be desribed as pure holy water now, i tackle what seemed like a very good fish. onto the bank it comes 25lb common unbelivable my 1st non commercial water carp in 10 years. over the next 38 hours i banked another 5 fish, loseing 3. i was a very happy carper and even had a foto to boot, the 28lb common.lovely jubley as the french conesoir del boy would say.

ment an awful lot to me getting out on this session and i wanted to fish rural france like soon as i got here, i had been waiting a few months to get my wisdom teeth out aswell, then another week for stitches to come out.

thnks lol, i couldn`t belive that 25lber though as i said it was my 1st non commercial carp in 10 years, well my 1st one back then was a 25lb common. that was in holland though, felt funny cos i was just as blown away by the one i cought recently.

the french birds here have done my head in a bit geo, but birds walking past while your fishing and coming for a chat to you was awsome.
