So, I decided to fish a deep day ticket water, unfortunateley the car park was closed for re-surfacing.
Nearest place now was the weedy water, but I didn't want to deprive Dave007 of a swim so fished the park lake next door.
Rods in by 2.30, titan was drying nicely, then it started to rain again. D'oh!
First run at 6.00 pm, a nice common, looked mid to high double when on the surface.....then the hook pulled. At least it was a run, so I was quite pleased, even if no food for the table.
6.55 pm, and the middle rod was away, my first fish on the enzyme bait (not Pete B's ). Weighed and photo'ed for the club records.

5 pounds, 1 ounce.

Cheers Manager.

The second photo is very much what I imagined...

Know what you mean about those acorns...sat flinching in my chair a couple of times on another water this week...

Friday night, finished work at 6.00pm, drove straight to the deep day ticket water.
Only one angler on, AJM had just arrived (posh and Becks? ),which would make 2.
Don't know why but I didn't fancy it, bet they both bagged up.
NEVER fished overnight there yet.
So, back to the park lake, same one I had 2 runs on in 4 hours last Wednesday. Fished the same swim until 1.30 pm Saturday, and blanked. Can't win them all. (A.L. HAD A 20.10 AT 7AM )

AFTER RETURNING HOME FOR A BRIEF MEAL, DROVE 7 MILES TO ONE OF THE EASIEST WATERS LOCALLY, AND IN 3 HOURS FISHING HAD 2 DOUBLES, BUT DIDN'T PARTICULARLY ENJOY IT, ALTHOUGH IT WAS NICE AND WARM WATCHING THE SUN SET.
oops!

HAWK LAKE, swim 110, which was 102, then 108, are you with me?
This was the maze, but it's not a maze anymore........... I'm confusing myself now.

.......anyway, fished 8pm until 11am, 18lb common at 10am., that's 14 hours the hookbait was in the water.
A 17lber came off the leak, and I believe Leg-end had one within 1/2 an hour of arriving (later than me I think).

Then after returning last year's cups and trophies, a quick blank at dog shite alley.

It's no use keeping a diary unless it's updated, so here goes.
Erm, blank?

Tues, 24 oct , H/136 4hrs, 1 carp, 18+ ,where are they?

Thurs. 26 oct, H 100 8pm to 6am, 1 carp, 23.06 common.

Sat 28 oct, arrived about 8 am, spoke to leg-end, he said it was grim, blankety-blank time.
Fished 6 hours on 100, blanked, went to 135, the angler there arrived before dawn and had only caught 1 carp and a bream.
Drove back, pulled up by m-b swim, a carp crashed, 2 rods in within 5 minutes, resulting in a 3 hour blank, saw 2 more fish crashing.

Tues, 31 oct, weather forcast was down to 2 degrees last night, but I hab a cowd in by doze and didn't want to get sweaty in my home bed.....any excuse.
Only 4 other anglers on the lake, and nothing had been caught since Sunday. Set up on H 107, 1 rod cast in the near margin, 1 halfway across, and the 3'rd ready to be cast out to the far lily pads at midnight, when 3 rods are allowed..yeah,right.
I had a terrible night's sleep, my mind was racing, I have the feeling that I didn't sleep at all. Nice and warm in the bag, but chuffin' cold when out of the bivvy for a pee.
Was wide awake at 5.00 am, as a kind owl twiiiiiiiiiiiitted into the tree behind me, just blowing my nose and noticed the lh alarm lighting, and the bobbin dropping back, typical bream bite I thought, but no, it was a common of 21.12 . Easy to unhook, but it was ravelled up with 4lb line around it's head, complete with a size 14 hook and a grain of fake pop-up corn. Not hair rigged, the hook was pshed into the corn, burying the point. Dipstick angler.
ABOUT 10YARDS OF LINE WAS GATHERED IN, WITH A SWIMFEEDER ON THE END, THAT MANY BEADS I STILL HAVEN'T FIGURED IT OUT YET.
That's probably it now for these between work overnighters, it's getting a tad cold, it's always dark, and the fish just ain't 'avvin it.

....but next week looks good weatherwise, as long as it doesn't rain, as I can't see the point in potentially blanking and getting wet.

ps, Remember "one-carp Cottis"? well, I seem to struggle to catch more than 1 lately.
