Belated diary update:
This weblog saves writing into my own diaries, which I have done for 11 years, basically, it's worthless info so I'm binning them.
If I'm going to fish, then I'll go, wind direction/comfort dictates what lake or swim.
Keeping it simple;
Weds. pm 21/06/2006 , a quick overnighter between work (fishing approx 8pm to 6am)on HAWKSTONE PARK (hawk lake), which has now re-opened after a 2 month close-season.Result, 2 bream.

Fri pm/sat am, 23/06/2006 a change from carping, sort of, I went on a Cheshire mere, with 2 carp rods out, I set up a float rod, caught tench of 5.06 and 5.09. A ggod night's sleep unsued without a bleep, and at 8am I returned to the float rod and had another 7 tench to 7.06..well pleased.
Went back sunday morning and had another 7 tench of 4 to 6 lbs.

Weds, 28/06/2006
another quick overnighter on hawk lake. A match was on, Ifished a swim with carp in front of me for 2 hours, no takes. Moved swims after the match, result; 4 carp, all commons of 22+,. 24+, 26.06 and 26.10. Last fish was hooked at 5.50 am, my alarm was set for 6.00. Thanks fishy.
I would love to have stayed longer, but unfortunately must work.

Fri day pm/sat am 30/06/2006
I returned to the same swim on hawk, as on would. Just had to wait for the pole angler to vacate the swim first. Result; 22.10, 24.02, 18+, all commons, and like the fish caught 2 days earlier, were all very long thin fish, unlike most commons I've had in the past from here. fish were caught at 12.30,2, and 2.30 am. Stuck it it until 11.00 and went home.
More time, less fish,typical.
Saw my first game of soccer in years, and at 7pm went for a walk around "the cotton fields" got as far as the 1'st swim and went back to my car for basic tackle items. Several fish were showing, always there on hot summer days. Yes, I hooked one, I waded into the thick weed to land it, pulled it and about 10lbs of weed to the net, then lost the hookhold. Still, so close........

ps, I saw Leg-end twice on Saturday, he was can-less both times
what's the world coming to?

Back on hawk again for an overnighter.
Too hot to sleep in bed, that's my excuse anyway.
Only two caught, both mid- 20 commons, again, landed between 5 and 6 am this morning.
That'll do nicely.

Nothing can beat the scenery of hawk lake an hour after sunrise, it's impossible to see the water for the bubbles caused by feeding fish.GORGEOUS!

Shame! Beautiful creatures, it's a joy to watch the pups playing.

I hear that otters are now to be seen on the river weaver.

COMMONS:
Mint all of them, except that 1 of them had been caught twice before this season, judging by the bloody marks in the mouth, in the scissors, both sides. I hooked it in the top lip.

BIT-BASHING SUCKS AS WELL.
Thursday night I went after work intending to float fish from 6.30 to 8.30pm only. In 2 hours I expected to catch at least 30 small carp and a few roach.
After a biteless 1'st hour I moved swims to a gap in lily pads, had a carp of approx. 2.5 lbs and lost 3 or 4 more, fished for 3 hours in total.
What's going on? Match on the lake on Sunday, I suppose I'll fish that cr@p as well.

Friday, fished approx 9pm to 10am Saturday, 07/07/2006 to 08/07/2006 on hawk lake again.....blanked.
Oh! well, fishing is now back to normal.

Went to a weedy water(cm) after work for 2 or 3 hours, just for the sake of it.
11.04 common in 1'st half hour. Sorted.
Easy fish,Dave.

Off the botty, Dave.
Front rod rest only, rods at 45degrees to keep the line off the weed, 7 bait stringer, same as last week.

The weed isn't quite so bad now (ahem!). No more of that horrible "buffalo snot" on the surface.
Take your waders and fish close in.

I'll be there Friday night probably, only for an hour or three though.
Tenching on bad***** this Saturday.
