Okiley dokiley, holiday over, sopping on the way back from B'ham airport, stir fry for tea, then back to
HAWK lake
.
I didn't get there 'til about 9pm last night, dark of course but a full moon was shining, so it was easy to set up and see where I was casting.
Saturday nights are so much different from Fridays, only about half as many anglers on the lake. I fancied the 2'nd bay, which seems to be a banker spot the last few months, and why not, the fish live there.
High bank and comfy swims taken, Ian (preston) was in the 1'st bay, so I thought of that last photo, and decided on the monastery bay.
Wind was pushing hard right to left into the end of the bay, didn't fancy the end swim due to a) a broken platform board and b) an overhanging branch. So, I fished the "cheeky coot" swim 40 paces to the left of that last photo.
No signs of fish in the waves/moonlight, although some thing large crashed out twice in the left hand margin, could have been a large carp, an otter, or a waterhen dropping off its perch.

A superb bait, simple rig, without the use of any kind of leader

produced a rare (for me) mirror carp of 24.14 at 5.15 this morning, followed by a common of 15.06 at 9am.
Easy fish (sometimes).
