I had news today of a big fish kill at Planets in Bolton .....Wise move Bolton anglers.
Keep it closed for as long as it takes.
Steps..your vision may sadly, and drastically come true.

Is SVC a rumour or fact? Whats happening at Clifton, surely the controlling club doesn't want to be risking those fish?

Heres hoping its enough, and in time. And tbh i reckon Smiths is well overdue a break, the fish in there have been fished for non stop now for many many years, and yes i know, they are there to be fished for,but giving the water/fish/banks a bit of a rest wont do it any harm whatsoever, quite the opposite i reckon.Maybe a few work partys???

Good move, better safe than sorry.
Only just heard about planets. Will try and get the full low down from the locals.

I'd be surprised if there has been a stocking. Hasn't been one in many years. Mind you people that own it don't have a clue and don't actually fish.
I'd heard fish have been turning up with the odd bit of fungus on for a while ( non SVC ) and that a few had died earlier in the year which coincided with a large algal bloom apparently.
Got fed up with telling the owners years back.
Gutted as it's where my grandad and dad caught their first carp and just like smiths as featured in all my families fishing at some time or other.

Fished planet about a month or so ago & it was very green & murky. Fishing was very slow going as well.
Only fished Smiths last Friday but there was no mention or signs of any closure.
Anybody heard of any other local waters closing?

Jussi, the water was closed off to fishing on Friday night at 10-00 pm.and will remain closed for the forseeable future, until any immediate threat of disease has well passed.Anyone trying to break the closure,WILL have their Bolton card rescinded for life.
