I realise that Steps but have you heard of any other nearby waters that are closed " purely as a precautionary measure" too.

Why just Smiths? There are plenty of waters nearer to Planet than Smiths is. Bryan Hey for example is just 2 minutes round the corner.

I appreciate it's not all to do with locations & a bit to do with who fishes which waters. But surely your gonna have the odd person who used to fish viccy planet who now try & have a do on Bryan Hey.

Just wondering where to go this weekend that's all. Don't wanna turn up at several venues & get turned away.

Any news appreciated.

Hope someone's keeping their eye on the place.....

Long dark nights....no Anglers turning up at dawn to worry about...Tranny Van pulls up on the road...

It's a Carp Theives wet dream.

I agree Miffs is well due a rest but I think closing it is a case of "Shutting the Stable door after the horse has bolted" I heard about this problem on Planets at least a month ago and as somebody has posted previously in this thread they've fished both waters with in that time.I'm sure I heard of problems on Heapys too but I could well be mistaken.

Braddys,Queens Park and possibly Pilly have all had outbreaks of SVC in the past and Miffs remained open.Is Miffs still connected to Doe Hay?

Shutting it may or may not significantly reduce the risk of SVC but as I stated earlier somebody needs to keep an eye on it.

Dont reckon you can put a time scale, regarding this water,Itll probably be some time after christmas now according to the head bailiff.Hopefully itll be safe to re-open then, better to be safe than sorry imho.

A fairly lengthy closure will do the place and it's residents no harm at all. Only hope that it is still under close scrutiny from the bailiffs, to stop the nightcrawlers.

It will do the fish the world of good mate, no doubt about it , but it will leave this sad bas***d wandering aimlessly at weekends. Mind you I might catch some fish for a change. That might be nice!
