Pva tape for boilie stringers.
Are stringers designed to keep the free offerings in the immediate vicinity of the hookbait,(ie;inches),or much further away?
I ask this as I recently let my 5 bait stringer drop into the lake, pulled it out straight away, only to have all the baits fall off within seconds.
Following on from that,I wondered how many boilies actually reached the bottom of the lake still attached to the stringer.

So,yesterday whilst fishing, and struggling I might add, myself and Mr.Goode did some very complicated and scientific experiments with three different brands of pva tape, and one of pva string.
What we did was,tie two bottom baits and one pop-up to a short length of pva,and threw them into approx 4 feet of water.Timings were taken from the baits hitting the water to the pop-up coming back to the surface.
(we're still waiting for one to rise, maybe a fish ate it)
The results were as follows.
1. kryston 20mm tape........20 seconds
2. liquidus 15mm tape.......25 to 30 seconds
3. nash fast melt tape......4 minutes
4. e-bay bargain 3-ply string.....still waiting
5. as above,but using 1 ply only,..10 seconds (a fluke)
All experiments were conducted twice for consistency.
If you have any p-ups going spare, post 'em to me.
