I understand the basic aim of the competition which is to qualify for a place in the final by catching a good fish fromthe lakes that have entered the competition but I cant grasp how many qualify.

Is it only the top fish from each lake, or is it all the anglers on the leader board at each lake. Will somebody please clarify this point.

Cheers

One of the venues I fish is taking part in this years Masters and my mate is currently on the leader board. From listening to him talking about it,

1) The leader board contains the top 5 anglers from each venue.
2) At the end of the competition, those anglers on the leader board then compete in a final on their venue. So if you are on the leader board at Linear, you fish in a final against the other four guys at Linear.
3) Then the winner for each venue goes through to a semi final, at Drayton res I think. Then the qualifiers from that go onto the final at Oxlease.

Sounds like giving up a lot of my own fishing time to matches to me, although I wouldn't say no to the money!!!

Noddy - Not sure where Strawberry fields comes into it mate, think you might have the wrong competition.

How does it work then. Is it as the above post suggests. If so it seems a lot of F*****g about to get to the finale!

As stated previously, 5 anglers who caught the biggest fish from one lake have a "fish off match" for a place in the semi final which I think is at drayton resi again this year. Going from last year, there were 3 semi finals(?)with 15 people in each, with the first 5 going on to a final at Linear. The final last year was for 24 hours. It was a good laugh and you have more chance of winning it than the lottery. I think the lakes involved pay to stage the competition. You dont have to pay to enter just be lucky enough to catch at the right place and time.
