Every lake has had, or still has a real character that everyone remembers for all the wrong reasons...Who is he..? and why is he ?...
a Carp Casualty.?
My local lake had a guy called ..Itchy Phil.. whose name came about after buying a second hand army issue sleeping bag. After proudly displaying the bag, it was draped over the bed chair ready for the night. Morning after and Phil didn't look to clever, he's head looked as though he had been beaten with a lump hammer he's whole body was absolutely covered in rashes and lumps, and proceeded to panic running up and down the bank scratting like an old mongrel .. Phil explained later that he hadn't washed the bag, and the wild life that inhabited the bag could of have come from any country the army had visited in the last five years. Phil recovered from the trauma with the living bag, and with a name that will live with him forever.

'mad' Ian, never asked his second name. He had a club foot ( no capri though ) and had arguments with himself about 'blokey'!!
Once blamed 'blokey' for 'tampering with his tackle' after losing a fish... was also prone to throwing himself and his gear into the lake off the dam wall when blanking, and due to the fact he couldn't swim had to be rescued by several 'mitch buchanan' wannabe's. quite literally mad as a box of frogs.

the other is legendary smiths angler.... 'the edge'. he had many other nicknames also called 'terry hearn'.
Once sold him the biggest spod in the shop and matching boat/spod rod 'as used by geoff capes' before he was set for a day on smiths ... came in day after and bought two more 'bucketspods' after losing the first after a couple of casts
also known for putting his swingers behind his buzzers
