After reading a post regarding a young lad who's cheque had been cashed and no goods (pod) arriving and no response from the seller despite numerous attempts at contact. I was extremely angered by this cos I've had it happen to me on a couple of occasions and lets face it it aint funny!!!!.
So how do we stop people advertising on this and other forums who rip us off ?
I am pretty new to this forum but people will know that I sell a bit of gear now and again. I for one would like to INVITE anyone who has dealings with me or any advertiser on the forums to leave their comments on the advertised thread for future buyers to read. Of course there will always be someone who might want to cause the seller harm or misrepresentation, but we all have the right to reply either on the thread or by PM.
I also realise that there are ways and means of ripping people off using these forums as we all post under nicknames etc and can change them at will, but I guess the mods can obtain and remove if necessary our registrations via our email addresses, which has got to make it difficult for offenders to continually re-invent themselves.
Also maybe one of the mods couled tell me if there is any legal recourse possible from the forum itself due to false advertising ?

What do you lot think ? ? ?

Alright mate...

Can I suggest what we've done on my site in the Tackle Exchange, we have a "Traders Feedback" topic stuck at the top for people to post their comments once they have made an exchange of goods and money..

I know this won't stop the one off "ripp off merchants" but it will tell you who it is safe to deal with, just a suggestion anyway, good luck

Were proposing to put a feedback forum next to the for sale forum very shortly, were just ironing out the finer points of how it will work. As soon as thats sorted it will be put up.

As far as I know there are no outstanding sales that have gone wrong they have all been sorted out. If I'm wrong about this could the people involved PM me please. We do try our best to sort out all the missunderstandings that occur.

The pod one has been sorted out.
You will note the name & shame thread within the sales forums, which we will have no hesitation in using if need be.
Sales on the forum are at the risk of the two parties concerned.
Read the sticky threads at the top of the sales and wants forum.

Freebie, I am the first point of contact for anyone that has any problems with ANY member of the forum when a "misunderstood" sale has gone on.

With my other fellow mods on the for sale and wanted section we will do everything in our power to get the goods dispatched.

We do reccomend that you get contact numbers, home and mobile, and address and real name of the person to whom you are buying or selling to.

Thankfully, there have only been a few sales that I am aware of that have gone "wonky", and these have been resolved by mediation from the moderators.

As kev says, we will not hold back on letting our loyal and appreciated members know who it is that has let the forum down.... We will publicly name and shame and pass on details to other forums those that have let people down.

We now have the feedback section live. so if you buy or sell then get your feedback updated. Edit. Its not quite live yet lancs but will be within the next couple of days.

Cheers.
