You would have thought living in the Hertfordshire/Essex borders there would be plenty of good syndicate waters around ........I am really struggling to find somewhere.

Anyone know of any available ??? Or any where there is a waiting list thats not going to take forever.

Appreciate any help ...

Wedge

You could do alot worse than the North Met, fishe it for 3 seasons, great lake, regular 30's. Every type of carping you could ask for, long-range open water, tiny sheltered bays. As long as the size doesn't intimidate you....Long Live Arfur!!!

Wedge, theres also the three lakes at Broxbourne, also great lakes and definitely a possibility of a 40, but, trust me, if you don't mind big lakes the North Met is a truly great lake and beautiful, the subject of the 40 in there is controversial but if its not true it'll produce one in the next season or two and it's not overfished. I've moved up to Suffolk from Herts and I'm really struggling to find a lake like it, I'm seriously considering having to make the trip down there every weekend!!

Loc: In a world of my own.
With Hertford to the East and Harlow to the West isn't Stanstead Abbotts just about on the border of Herts and Essex? May be worth a try.

stalkinblues Are the car parks/ bankside safe i.e on one of the lakes nearby I was advised never leave your tackle as it will go walkies which when your own your own and can't get a barrow through the woods due to kissing gates and stepped bridges made it impossible to fish a seesion.

Hi Mark, the car parks are open to the general public so they are as safe as you'd expect, I used to park near the houses the other side of the railway line to be on the safe side. As for the bankside, I never had any trouble getting a wheelbarrow anywhere, I never had any trouble on the bank, zipped my bivvy up every night and didn't have any trouble from anyone and I've never heard of anyone having their gear stolen or anything like that, and that goes for the surrounding lakes as well, Fisher's Green, Hooks Marsh etc. But I wouldn't advise anyone to leave their gear anywhere they can't see it no matter where the lake.
