..On reflection,it is probably best that such information as Moon Phases and
Length/Weight ratios are not freely available to the great unwashed.....
....much better left and appreciated by the true Aficionados......

Colin,

The Group has no commercial interests and is non-profit making.

Hopefully this page here will explain things better for you.

Blimey Paul - you've opened up a can of worms here haven't you - something to moan about thats not spelt ECHO!!

The BCSG sounds an excellent idea to me, I probably woudn't meet the standard, however.

Surely the knockers here must realise, that man is by nature gregarious, and needs to form groups and 'gangs'. On here for instance 'the Grimsby lads', elsewhere 'the hooded fellowship' and the 'Carp Park' boys on RMC; absolutely nothing wrong with this, I don't suppose they realise it, but these loose groupings are not that different from the BCSG, they are about the sharing of information and anecdotes, they just meet in a more informal way!

'The Freemasons of Carp Angling', not quite so sinister as that lot me thinks!!

Regards
Russ

Some people still seem a little confused over this secrets issue! It is not about what or who you know but your attitude to fellow members and RESPECT. Sure members still keep hard learned things to themselves and abide by confidences. It is not just what the member can get out of being a member but what they can contribute to the organisation. Members wouldn't for example approach a water and ask where the fish are they are experienced to find them themselves and not swimjump etc. The interview is not eletist but is only to confirm photographically what the application form says and he/she would fit in well with existing members in the region. It is kept this way so people can aspire to membership. I know many excellent anglers who have no interest of membership. Thats fine each to their own, there just happens to be many who LOVE IT!
