Ok, i'll start this one off.

Linear Fisheries in Oxford, brilliant describes this place in one word. Twenties with a chance of 30 or even a 40.

Trentham Gardens in Stoke on Trent, Run by new people. Fish to mid Twenties, good place for a bend in the rod.

The Local Canals, Very neglected places by carp anglers with unkown fish. Usual day tickets can got from local tackle shops. And you will more than likely be on your own. Pioneering stuff!

Al, you want to go to Sunnyside lake on the Wyreside complex, plenty of doubles a few 20's and a 30 to go for, fairly easy and a safe secure complex toboot, give Bob a call on 01524 792 093...As your from Chorley it will only take you approx 25 mins, as it is situated in Forton near Lancaster...

Linch Hill Lesiure Park in Oxford

Miles better than Linear, with proper facilities and no noddies

No noddies at Linch?
Don't make me laugh!!

I would say Manor (cos the noddies go to St Johns)
The GUC, pukka English 30s and 40s
Dorchester Lagoon, its got the "mystery" everybody goes on about, and easily accessible to all.

Bream Boy you took the words right out of my mouth. ...Noddy and Big Ears and all the other residents of Toytown fish there alongside a few decent anglers who are desperate for a bit of glory.

Not my favourite venue.

On a more positive note, I'd say

1. Sandhurst
2. Yateley South Lake
3.Hardwick (Linear)

Why day ticket waters?
In a lot of places you will find quality fishing on a club book for less than £50 a season, and by concentrating on one water, you will learn an awful lot more.
For example, a long weekend on some popular day ticket waters will cost you more than a full year on RMC kingsmead1!
Why do people seem prepared to spend £20 a night on some waters?

Because when entering the sport, easy club access is not possible. So people need somewhere to fish. Day ticket is the answer.

I guess you knew this but forgot.
