Weve all lost monsters at the net etc etc but last friday i hooked into something that was like a tank. Im fishing a lake with about 15 twenties in it with one that was caught at 26 six years ago and hasnt been out since, its been seen and said to be around 30+ now. Ive been targating this fish for 2 seasons now and as i said i hooked into something on friday that just took off up the lake at its own will. Ive caught fish up to 28 and this felt so much heavier, it took 40 yds of line twice with me helpless to turn or even make a dent in its run in any way, im using 2.75 tc rods of a high quality and i can honestly say it was bent double at an alarming bend , the hook pulled on the second run leaving me gutted and convinced ive just lost the fish ive been trying to catch for two years.
Anyone else ever lost there prize sought after fish??? , i caught two 20s the same session so all was not lost but ive put so much effort into catching this one fish i am just gutted, i aint giving up though and whether ith 2 or 20 years im having that fish!
