I've had a couple of mid doubles from ************* (the place with no name!!!).

Steve B's done well, last I'd heard he'd done 3 20s and his PB twice since starting to fish it in April. We're on the same bait, I showed him the rigs I was using and offered advice about the lake....and he's outfishing me 3 to 1!!!

I'll not be going for a while now, the Mrs is due to hatch the sprog any time now, so I've been "advised" not to plan any fishing till July!!! Hopefully they will have spawned by then and be back on the feed.

I couldn't go this week anyway, water pump went on the car. Knocked out the timing belt too. It ain't gonna be cheap. Just hope I have it back for Friday, got a job interview in Grimsby at Youngs Bluecrest. Fingers crossed for ne?

Ha,you can bivvy up in the garden or the local park
Easy as long as you`ve got the cash to pay for em

How would Hunty (A.V Developments) take to a social, might be best to okay it with him first Nick especially as it`s strict season opening and the regulars might not take to it kindly.
Other possible ticket venues???

Social sounds really good but where is Ville, is it Ashbyville.

"scunny girls easy" ???????? try tellin that to "our lass"

see you there "kitch" "on for a "4 day'er" so hopefully "it could be me"

and yes mate it is "the infamous "ashby ville"
any ideas ????? as for "alternative venues",input gratefully received.

pete "got room in my yard for four/five bivvys, just don't "pi**" on the plants or you might have an "angry women decimating your sleeping arrangements"

as for the social/barbe/piss up,will try to get hold of "steve or bill" to see what the score is !!!!! as i think it's still available on a day ticket basis,as for the regulars,i think i might know most of them so it should'nt be a problem (hopefully),will post a bit nearer "june 15th" as and when i get a bit more info
happy carping/breaming

Pete I heard that you only moved to Lincoln to be amongst the Lincoln Nancy Boys cos there are no Nancy Boys in Grimsby

By "you know where" I take it you mean the one at the bottom of the valley with the green hut. If so then I've come off there for the mo. Had a good March on there with 5 20s and 20 odd good doubles but I've joined what was Hutchys lake further up the valley and I'm on there now (boy is there a lot going on there, the place has got REAL potential) already had 4 20s out, some real nice lookers.

As for casting over Johns spots, his acne has got nothing to do with me

John's told me all about the new lake, can't really justify another £300 this year on waters still I may see about getting on the waiting list for next year.

As for the "green hut" water it will never be the hardest of waters but is always good for a bend in the rod.

As for nancy boy's there are a few if you know where to look, where did you say you all hang out John?

Bob,

Wilko is far to busy planning his TWO french trips to bother fishing with us.

Im afraid to say Pete outfished me big style.....3 20s to my blank. I went in there and battered the place the first 2 weeks....now there getting there revenge on me!!
Kev....looks like there nicely on the our bait...been watching them scoff it up in the shallows.
Next big rolling session probably end of June...then there will be 3 of us on CJs seceret (not so) little round balls.
I must say the place (u know where I mean) is looking very carpy at the moment...all nice and green 'n that.

Has anyone on here joined Wold Valley? I had a look and just didnt fancy fishing in Pea Green Soup! By all accounts there are still places left out of the 25 available. The guy running it said I could pay in instalments the £300 joining fee......seems their desperate to fill it.
I know some of the lads say its got potential, but looking at it, the water is devoid of any serious weed growth etc.....not what I would call a rich water to grow fish on.

Ok Steve, I don't know which lake you visited that was pea green but it wasn't Wold Valley! There are still places left and we're not desperate to fill them, nothing was said about paying in instalments we're just being careful who we let in. Its not just a case of turn up with your money and you're in. If you had had the courtesy to contact Glen after your visit you would have found out that you hadn't been accepted. Some of the reasons for this was because of some things that took place at Barleys which I'll not mention on here. Suffice to say we are looking for people to be part of a friendly syndicate where everyone gets along and has respect for the fish and their fellow anglers.

As for the lake not having potential I would rather listen to the opinions of the guys from the EA and the people that have fished the lake for the past 3 or 4 years and on the basis of that information I consider that the lake has the potential to produce some really good, big fish.

While we're clearing the decks here Steve you mentioned on the phone to Glen that we were really good mates and fishing buddies whilst on Barleys. Steve, I know you as an angler that was on Barleys for two seasons, we spoke as anglers do. We never fished together although we might have been on the lake at the same time. Steve, if you ever want to use my name as an intro to someone please do the decent thing and contact me first.

Steve,

The water at the Valley is FAR from being Pea Green!!In fact it is quite a clear lake!!

Fair enough if you don't wanna join the lake but don't come on here slagging it off!!I have spoke to the syndicate leader and he told me you were not offered a deal to pay the membership in insalments!!And i know for a FACT that they are not pleased at all with you slagging the place off!!

Fairs fair Steve, this is not the place to slag a newly opened syndicate.

Give it time with the right people looking after the place it (which by all accounts it does) it has the potential to be an excellent water. Something that is rare in these parts.

Pete.

Opinions and views are one thing Steve, lies and make believe are something completely different!

As to what went on at Barleys I did say that I wasn't going to mention things on here as I didn't want to highlight examples of bad angling practice (IMO)or slag anyone off on a public forum. The boat episode Steve for one.

The post that you made about Wold Valley was wholly uncalled for and the fact that you would post what you did reinforces our belief that we made the right decision in not accepting you for membership. We can do without people like that.

Enjoy your fishing Steve and try to let others do the same.

WOLD VALLEY

WHAT!!!!!!

Excuse me Steve why have you written that total and utter crap about Wold Valley?

I don't mind people making Criticisms about our lake if they have good reason too. What you have writ down is total and utter lies.

One if you took your head out of your a**e when walking around you would have found the lake was not like pea soup but totally the opposite. You could not have missed the crystal clear stream what feeds the valley therefore making the water quite clear.

TWO were did you get this c**p that we said you could pay in instalments what total and utter bull nobody pays in instalments.

THREE I heard about you a long time before I took over the valley by numerous people and if you had of contacted me about looking around the place I would most defiantly have said no. I/we want people who can get on with other anglers know how to look after fish and certainly do not slag other people off behind there backs.

I am hoping that not many people listen to your underhand comments and take you for what you really are.

Any anglers on the warehouse are invited to have a look at the lake obviously by appointment you can then make your own judgements about the valley.

steve,
lets get a few things straight here about you and the valley,
firstly, when you first rang me up you couldnt give me your money fast enough, bearing in mind you havent even seen the lake that put a serious doubt in my mind as to how much of a competent carp angler you are, nobody in there right mind would pay without seeing a venue.
secondly...unless you had a ski mask over your head you were at the totally wrong lake
wold valley doesnt remotely resemble pea green soup,it never has done and never will do,like my partner said if you bother to open your eyes you would have seen it was fed by a natural stream and out of a sluice gate at the other end(another reason to doubt your angling capabilities).
thirdly....this lake has the gubbings of producing big fish(which it will do)any sensible carp angler would be able to tell this just by looking at the place,it is naturally fed and is basically a larder for the fish(another reason to doubt you)
fourthly....we are not desperate to fill our syndicate in the first few weeks of opening, for the simple reason we want anglers who can see the place how it will be in five years time and not with people who carnt see past their nose.
wold valley is for people with some insight and vision and not fly by night muppet anglers who havent got a clue what they are talking about.
im afraid to say steve, you definetly fall into the latter part of this and this is why if you had botherd to phone me you would have found that you were not accepted by myself or martin

so in future steve if you want to slag off a water make sure you have a clue what you are talking about

regards
glen.watmough

as already stated steve, you obviously walk about with your head up your a**e because the water in the valley is next to gin clear ,and the green that you could see was from the weedgrowth that you said doesnt exist, clown.
Unfortunately i may have been the one that gave you the inclination to take a look with a view to membership, thank god you were rejected, and rejected you were (big time)
By the way, steve has just joined mesters ?(or so he says) and hes slagging of all you scunny guys too, looks to me as no-one wants him on there waters , he also pulled of manton coz it did his head in and the lads were w*****s,not you tho steve ay ?
Also while im on a roll the guys you have name dropped to me with reference to them all being your "fishing buddies" ha ha ha

There`s a thread in Forum News called Probelms logging in.
Basically the cookie that lets you log on automatically to FW stored on your machine is corrupted.
Here are the details.

This forum uses 'cookies' that are used to let members use the site.

If you are having problems logging in. . . or out. . . 'cookies' are normally the problem.

It is easy to fix!

All you need to do is clear your existing cookies off your browser. To do this just follow one of the following;

Internet Explorer 6 - Windows 98:
- In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
- On the General tab, click Settings, and then click View files.
- Click "Name" at the top of the column to put the files in alphabetical order.
- Select the cookie from "www.fishingwarehouse.co.uk", it should be titled something like:
Cookie:yourname@www.fishingwarehouse.co.uk
- Select the cookie you want to delete, and then, on the File menu, click Delete.

Windows XP ***ALL BROWSERS***
- Look under C:\Documents and Settings\your user name*\cookies
*the username you're logged onto your computer as, NOT your username for this forum.

- Select the cookie from "www.fishingwarehouse.co.uk", it should be titled something like:
Cookie:yourname@www.fishingwarehouse.co.uk and delete it.

Netscape 4.7 - Windows
Go into the programfiles/netscape/users/YourComputerLoginName/ and edit my cookie.txt file.

Widnows 98
- On the desktop, click on "Windows Explorer"
- On the left side fo the screen, scroll down to your C drive
- Click on the + sign (if there is a - sign there, the contents of your C drive are already displayed)
- Scroll down to "Windows"
- Click on the + sign
- Scroll down to "Temporary Internet Files"
- At this point, you can either delete all your temporary files, or scroll down on the right hand side of the screen til you find the ThisSite cookies and delete just those.

Internet Explorer 5 - Macintosh:
- Select "Preferences" from the "Edit" menu.
- Select "cookies" under "Receiving Files" from the list at the left.
- In the list on the right, select the cookies files from "www.fishingwarehouse.co.uk"
(There could be as many as 4; w3t_key, w3t_language, w3t_myid, and w3t_mysess)
- Click "Delete"
- Click "OK"

Nescape 4.6 - Macintosh:
- Go to the "finder" (Macintosh Operating System).
- On your hard drive, open Your "System Folder"
- Open the "Preferences" folder.
- Open the "Netscape Users" folder
- Open the folder for your name (ex. "Joe Smith")
- Drag the file titled "MagicCookie" to the trash can.

Netscape 6 - Macintosh:
- Select "Preferences" from the "Edit" menu.
- Click the little triangle next to "Privacy & Security", then click on "Cookies"
- Click "View Stored Cookies"
- If you click on "Site" at the top of the list it will sort them by site.
- Scroll down to and select the cookies from "fishingwarehouse.co.uk"
(There could be as many as 4; w3t_key, w3t_language, w3t_myid, and w3t_mysess)
- Click on "Remove Cookie"
- Click "OK"

----------------------------------

If still a problem please send an e.mail to admin@fishingwarehouse.co.uk

----------------------------------

Cookies can become corrupt for many reasons and sometimes for no reason at all .

The most common things that corrupt a cookie are as follows. . . so you can avoid the problem in the future.

If you log in to fw using Explorer AND another version browser the cookies become confused and will be corrupted.

If your computer is set to the wrong date, being time sensitive, they will corrupt.

If you are logged in on a computer 'live to the internet' say at work or home. Then the cookie becomes confused and will be corrupted.

Alrite lads hows it goin.

Just had a few days on Richmond and managed a couple of doubles. There was two of the 30's out yesterday, a 31lb mirror and a 32lb 12oz common. They are chasing at the minute in there tho just before spawning so there abit on the hard side to catch.

Congrats to Pete again with his stunner of a 30. It looks like he's gona have a wkd season at this rate, Top angling

Anyway if any of you lot are interested in a session somewhere maybe i could put a few more names to faces. Let me kno if interested and we'll have to sort something out.

Rgds, wilko

hello

yeah it has been fully booked all through the week.

try something different most people on there use trigger as it going in all the time use a differnt bait ie mainline with a glug in a pva bag and smaller hooks like an eight or ten. a lot of people fish the carpark area or easy access pegs take your trolly and walk to an out of the way part of the lake there are plenty of hot swims very fishy looking all over the place.

good luck

hi all,
just to let ya how the week went at selby if anyone is interested.
there was a maximum of 4 on the whole week including me.found it very difficult as the fish were just not feeding.it was alive with them but just basking in the sun and cruising.anyway after many frustrating hours i winkled 7 out inluding my first ever 20's and new personal best.they went,12lb 12oz, 13lb 4oz, 18lb 3oz, 19lb 4oz, 20lb 1oz, 24lb 8oz and a 25lb 4oz.i also lost 6 which kept me kicking myself but all but one was off the top so the lost ones prob didnt get a good hook hold.i musnt complain because everone else blanked.am over the moon and still buzzing bout my first ever 20s and a new PB.yesssssssss.
cheers lads,
stew.

Pete,

Your 30 has come out again to Rik at 32:00, Daz said its condition has improved since its last visit to the bank.
Ps If ur down there take some strong hooks/links etc and be prepared to lose a few in the green stuff (its really coming up) there really up for feeding at the moment! Spent 3 days on last week 9 runs....5 weeded up, 4 landed 11:04, 17:08, 23:08, 24:12...all stunners. Also ive only seen 1 angler on there in the last 2 weeks.

I see App Frod has had it's usual yearly stocking, though this time they have decided to stock both ponds, the main lake has received some 500 small carp and the match lake 1500! Just when i thought this could be getting a decent fishery in terms of weight gains and size of carp, they go down the road of stocking it to the hilt with small pasties (1oz to 1lb), sadly when i fished it a fortnight ago that was unknown to me, to be my last time fishing the place , good luck Frod committee.

cal,
when did they stock it,would be interested to know
on a lighter note, did richmond sunday tea till tuesday, wanted to get on the big lake but it looked like a bleeding camp site and couldnt find a quiet spot anywere
ended up on the back lake and ended up with a couple of doubles, biggest 15.4lb..
come midnight on monday night the buggers decided to start spawning so packed up early doors and left them to it

Club committees don't you just love em , as ever the match men are complaining about their weights, so in their wisdom they have a policy of stock, stock and a little more stock, anyone who has fished Frod over the years will know it is not a bagging water, it is a lovely mature lake that holds some good fish in it, generally you have to work at it to get results, the coarse fish are generally in tip top condition esp the big roach, but with the amount of bagging waters that have sprung up over the last 5-10 yrs it's what the match lads have been used to, until they fish Frod! Sadly i think they are going down the same route, i still have the Trent to look forward to

NODDIES;Always will be the same,15 year ago they,d have wanted all the carp out!("keep snapping me line")now they ca,nt put enough in(need big wieght, like at sands")one consellation though the pike and cormerants will get fat!. dont think these fish will cause a problem somehow! ENJOY IT!.

mmm,
time will tell if these fish cause problems or not
there seems to be too much emphasis these days on how much money can be earned rather than building a decent fishery
but like the rest of the so called fishery managers that have come and gone, they will all learn the hard way
in my book its quality rather than quantity

These same committe members are the ones complaining that the carp in the small lake are getting to big and are snapping the match men everytime they hook one. They are actually telling anglers if they catch a double figure fish in the small pond, then transfer it over to the main lake. Are they mad or what???

What youve got to remember here is this water is not a carp fishery/syndicate.the main decisions to the future of the type/quality of fishing will and is decided by a majority..,or that would be the impression!.unfortunatley carp anglers are outnumbered in every way.sometime ago this problem was addressed ,or was attempted to be addressed by carp angling members who became committee members.in a fare system this would have some level of impact.ie fareness.unfortunatley as time passed a rule passed to only include CORUS employees onto the committee.,(end of that one i here you say)it appears here in this present situation the present direction of the management is catering for the majority ie,NODDIES. theres not a lot you can do as a small group of carp anglers, but i do wonder how many of you work for CORUS.TIME will tell if youre really bothered. ENJOY IT

Cough, cough, Corus employee here .

""it appears here in this present situation the present direction of the management is catering for the majority ie,NODDIES. theres not a lot you can do as a small group of carp anglers, but i do wonder how many of you work for CORUS.TIME will tell if youre really bothered. ENJOY IT.""

Correct me if i am wrong Addict, the present situation has always been to cater for the majority of anglers i.e. pleasure anglers. Not once in my 15 yrs as a member have they taken a stocking policy to look after the carp anglers. It is frustrating watching a fishery develope into what could become a first class water for all anglers develope into a bite-a-chuck water, personally this is not for me, so i will go elsewhere and fish, here's hoping those pike get extremely fat .

Yes working men`s club angling commitees - don`t you just love `em
Nothing new i`am afraid - Cons club and Ashby Institute (RIP) on Moorwell Rd went thru the same wrangles at one time.
Be thankful the Commitees arn`t still operating pike culls - this reason i left the `stute about a year before it`s final demise, drainage and backfill (and they never ever did bugger all with the land)

If you want to influnce these chappies then turning up at AGM`s and going thru the process of getting carpers nominated as club officals is a must.

Still the beer`s cheap in the clubs

Manton big lake producing a few - 3 for me last night to 19-06.

Catching a few myself on the trent, which is not like me 8 carp between two of us biggest going 18:04 to my m8, lost count of the number of barbel, biggest at 9:08 and quite a few of those bait robbing chub, don't you just love em and found out last week what i suspected for a while, there is catfish in the trent and one or two people are catching .

Got your dates Kev, will sort something out, it will most likely be mid-week, two choices really, just to catch a carp or probably blank but a slim chance of a biggie ?

Nice common .

Cheers,

Pete.

had a little bash on a.v not so long ago and nowt really happening as the carp were holed up round the back "gettin fruity" in the reeds and the bream looked like porpoises ,gonna have another crack when i get chance,as from what i saw "cruisin" the lumps are "still there" and having fun

Alrite lads, Just got back from france a couple of weeks ago. Had an awesome weeks fishing with a new PB of 30lb 8oz. I had 8 fish in total with a few twenties aswell on the bank. Havnt done alot of fishing really this year but im off to Dreamlakes with Pete G on the 15th August so that should be good. I would like to do a bit of fishing in England before i go to france but ive only just come out of hospital and am recovering from having my apendix taken out. Will try and squeeze a seshion in before france though if i feel up to it.

Have any of you lads been fishing lately.

Rgds, wilko
