I am giving serious consideration to using it this year. I'm after a quality freezer bait in various sizes, with shelf-life backup's, with a decent range of pop ups to match.

The source is competitively priced and I'm sure it will be available in lots of places, so easy to get hold of. My understanding is that it has quite a "meaty" flavour to it, probably no doubt the meaty marine pellet type favoured by DB.

To be honest, I like the whole range of DB baits - they are all quality products, and so I dont expect this to be any different. They've invested heavily in equipment to make this stuff, so they wouldnt skimp on the bait itself and risk it being a flop.

I wouldnt expect Terry Hearn to slavishly use this bait all year round. Lets face it, its just one product - other bait companies have lots, so whilst it might be quite possible for a mainline sponsored angler to fish exclusively mainline boilies (and I bet they may dabble with the green monster, chum mixer, and maize too), I dont think anyone would anticipate that "the source" is the right boilie for every situation, and neither would Terry.

Although I aint seen the bait for meself yet, the cost (at trade) compared to the cost they're dishing out for is shall we say...extortion !

What a load of twaddle!

1. The source will catch a lot a fish - if you know whats gone into it you wont joke about its effectiveness.....still gotta be used properly....but v good quality....and no - i wont be using it - i am totally happy with my DT stuff ....pukka!!!!

2. The article you refer to was winter fishing wasnt it......maybe on your waters your happy to stick with 3 rods on boilies even if they arent catching (no matter which boilie beiing used) then i would expect any half decent angler to fish with the bait that will catch....not stick with a bait that wont.....like corn or maize, or pellets and rami, etc

3. Hooks - this is funny - cos if you know Tel you would know that we have always tweaked hooks for certain situations - we used to do it with carbon and super specialists and now Tel does it with stiff reiigers - do actually understand why....go and have a think and come back if you are able to come up with a reasonable rationale.... He proposed the actual design for the stiff riggers - dont you think he should therefore look at ways to improve them (the tweak is for bottom baits and the hooks are used as is for stiff rigs).....still using esp products for purposes when they offer the best - and when it comes to hooks - that is exactly what is used...

I have seen trade pricing for the bait and I have seen RRP, to be honest I think that both are reasonable. It still is one of the most cost effective baits out there.

It winds me up hearing people complaining about how much tackle shops make! YOU DONT PAY THE BILLS, RENT, STAFF, LECCY etc, so start paying or go somewhere where you get NO customer service - like the internet.

I use other baits so wont be on the source. I would have NO PROBLEM using it though.

Definately wont be using this new 'wonder bait'
I know someone who was also testing at the time Mr Hearn was and He and I thought it was just another cheap base mix overflavoured to catch the angler. Before everyone goes off on one it is just my opinion each their own.

How can you say it's over flavoured. I've had it for a while now and it has very little flavour or smell apart from the fishmeal smell. It relise on the food signals rather than chemical attraction.

I don't know what you've seen but I doubt it was the source in its original guise has someone p****d about with it.

Fair enough if you want to believe the usal media hype but I dont believe for one minute it is quality . By overflaboured I mean so that they can cover what is a cheap base mix. I have seen it since than from others that have baught it and it was the same stuff. Personally I believe it is what you are confident in that matters. If you like the stuff GREAT carry on and use it but you could put together a bait just as good that no-one else was using for less money?

Sorry.........Cheap Base Mix

I know the people at Dynamite personnaly and believe me its not cheap and it will catch more fish then anglers.

Like Klewless said its a quality mix.

Why does everyone who is not going to be using it keep knocking it. If you think you can come up with as good a mix well done......
