Hi Roman
I'm not sure if you actually qualify as a true Yorkshire lad - as all your fishing is done down south !
We were still catching up to a fortnight ago but i must be getting soft in my old age cos it seems like hard work at the moment.
I have decided to have a change for the next month or so and do some piking just to refresh the old batteries.
Then i will be up and at em again on my decided new water for next season. You know where i am going and it is supposed to be a proper water containg some proper fish - i just wish everybody would stop writing about it in carpworld or the bloody place will be crowded
I've also got a trip to france all sorted for March.
I'll see you at the Carp society meetings - not sure of the dates yet but i understand they have lined up Jacko and the Korda lads.

Come on then you 'secret squirrel' pm me with the details of your magic venue - a perfect chance for that social we keep talking about- i would have thought.
I have deadbaits and am ready to travel
Plus it avoids the embarrassment of a carping social when we both know i would seriously kick your arse
I await reply with interest

Ian Good local knowledge - New Penny We will have to watch him - in the future when he becomes the Carping god that he is destined to become we may find the winter society meetings are indeed switched to the New Penny Only kidding Roman The back is slowly on the mend - not able to get the gear out yet but hoping i will be able to before long. So i will just have to spend this saturday morning feet up - cup of tea cheering the boys on 'Come on England' Healdy

Rolo, Your gay boyfriend nails one last xmas eve and suddenly your both carping gods When you've been doing it for over ten years, then i'll show respect Healdy, I'm off for another freezing blank on Sunday, somewhere in the North East - has not been a good plan starting on a new water in Winter !! Not even seen a fish, never mind a carp...... Still I'll be overjoy'd when I get one in ....... March probably Ian

At last the days are getting longer, the usual faces are starting to appear round the waters again. Won't be long before the stella's flowing again and take away business is up on the local waters. Questions in peoples minds: Will Steve Barwick get the Richmond big one ? (how long before its in the mainline advert) Will Rolo get a lady and stop catching ?

Hi Nothing happening at all I've fished a new water this winter without any real idea whether it had winter form or not. Ive only done days but have managed a total of one carp To make it worse this is the only fish I've seen caught . I wondered whether any of the 'Yorkshire Lads' fishing Yorkshire waters - that rules you out Roman - have had successful winters? Is it worth the effort - I'm thinking of digging out my pike gear for next year. Healdy

Sad news from a north yorkshire stillwater, tackle thieves seem to be making an appearance again. Early saturday morning on the water 2 people had tackle stolen as they fished, 1 guy had a marker rod stolen and another a complete set up (3 rods, reels, buzzers and pod) This kind of theft must can only have been comitted by an angler. SAD B######S .
