Tony you have absolutely no understanding of the libel laws. It has nothing whatsoever to do with the police..it is a civil matter.
I remember being at a Carp Society Steering Committee meeting some years ago - just prior to a major libel case - in fact, the only one in carp fishing history. Several members of that committee were due to give evidence (and did so, including Les Bamford and Alan Atkins), and were extremely confident of winning the case and getting their man...I think everyone knows what happened.
As I've said before if ECHO have not got the conviction to name the person publically, then I'm not about to put this site at legal risk.
That would be completely irresponsible. I teach law for a living, by the way...
