We are sorry we had a recent problem that had this forum down for a while. We had technical problems but were able to reinstall the origional forum. We will be continuing with upgrades for a while now so please expect the odd occasion where you will either see strange things going on or the forum unavailable for (hopefully) short peroids. We expect the transition to be easyer from now on and hope that when finished you will like the improvments. Cheers Steve

Steve,

As part of the forum upgrades, would it be possible to have a full black and white screen page in which to prose a post, instead of the current black on brown view through a keyhole?

Should this have been mentioned before, please excuse me, yet it would be a lot easier on the eyes.

David

Hi David.
Did you know you can pick from various styles of how the forum is displayed in your home page?
Click on my home, scroll down to main configeration and click on the edit button for display preferances. Within the display preferances section you will see a drop down menu titiled "Which style sheet" chose from the list in the drop down remembering to apply the changes at the bottom of the page before returning to the forum. My personal choice is the blues, a much nicer style on the eye.

Andy,

Yes I am aware of the choice of display for the forum, I use desert I think?

What I am refering to is the 1/6 page of black on light brown that is where the posts are written in small text. I need to press continue to then see a larger and clearer preview of my post before I can accurately see what it is that I have written!

If I do not pay attention at this time, I find myself editing my post after it has arrived on the forum to remove any errors. Yet from viewing the posts of many, they either have better eyesight than i, or simply don't give a monkeys that what they have written is not presented well?

From fleeting visits to other forums, I find it a pleasure to be able to see what it is that I have written, when I am actually writing it.

Unless there is another function of the programme that presents this stage better.

I hope that my comment is constructive.

David

hmmmm,

Hi Dave - not sure what you mean as a problem. I changed my viewing to use the desert style but it all looks OK to me. . .

Perhaps you could take a screen grab (your computer can take a 'picture' of the screen showing what you are looking at) and send it to me.

Cheers

Steve

Steve,

I have changed to the Blues in the large font, here the view of the 'prose' text is larger and easier to work with, yet I have not found a way of making the window full width. Even though the main pages are 'chunky' I find this is a definite improvement.

Thank you.

David
