I'm about to buy a season ticket for Roath Park lake for the princely sum of 2o quid.

A mate of mine fished there a few times last year and had a thirty/ he has been telling me theres deffo bigger carp in there, as he's seen them.

Is this the cheapest water around for what you can catch?
have any of you guys fished there before?

Give us all a clue as to where it is then! Which county or even which country would be a good starting point!

I've paid £17.50 for a licence to fish a water holding a great many big carp. It has countless twenties, a scattering of thirties, and although a forty is unlikely, it's certainly possible. The fishery is called The Nene.

yeah.....I can believe it. I fished on the wakefield Angling Club waters all last year, the book cost £20, and Nostell Priory holds 'The Big 'un' which has turned the fortie mark a couple of times. There are also about 3 other thirties in their waters.

forties are a bit thin on the ground in cheshire, but i can think of a couple of club waters which cost 20 - 30 quid per year, were your in with a chance of a mid, maybe upper 30,depending on the time of year.

Day permits for the motorway cost about 25 quid and it contains yorkshires finest 40. I can think of a few guesting lakes with big carp in and they don't come much cheaper than that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you can't nightfish it though on day-ticket.........can you????
I used to know someone on the syndicate there about 2 years ago. He reckoned it was pretty hard.
Sally Walshes Damn at £5 per 12 hrs (I think it is) isn't bad to say it has a 48 lb fish in it!

Grand Union Canal. £2.50 a day if the bailif turns up, Carp to upper 40s, numerous 20s and a large choice of swims. Not a very wide fishery but it's fu**ing long.
